At the start of Resident Evil 4, players will have to survive an attack in the village square, which will end after a few minutes have elapsed. After that, Leon will make his way to the next named location, the Farm. There's a locked gate on the northern end of the area, and nearby it, there's a blue note stuck to the wall that players can pick up to start one of the Resident Evil 4 remake's many side quests that involve destroying blue medallions.
Blue Medallions at the Farm
The blue note reads: "For the love of god, will somebody please get rid of the blue medallions those religious lunatics left hanging around?" The request is to destroy the five hanging medallions at the Farm, and once it's done, players will get three Spinels as a reward from the Merchant.
Here are the five locations of the blue medallions at the farm, starred on the map below:
Blue Medallion 1
Facing where the gate is, turn around and then turn left to see the first medallion hanging on the second floor of the building. There's a rather large opening that lets Leon shoot the medallion with no issues.
Blue Medallion 2
Head east of the first medallion to find an altar near a spiked fence. The medallion will be hanging right behind the altar and can be shot from the right of the shrine.
Blue Medallion 3
Go back to the building with the typewriter save point to find the medallion stuck on the side of it.
Blue Medallion 4
Head inside the barn just a few steps northwest of the typewriter room to find a medallion hanging on one of the beams.
Blue Medallion 5
Heading further northwest, players will see a windmill to the left of a little shack. The blue medallion is hanging inside.
What to do With Spinels?
Once Resident Evil 4 players wrap up the Medallion side quest and speak to the Merchant, they will be rewarded with three Spinels. These items can only be sold to the Merchant to unlock special items.
The Merchant will appear at key points throughout the story of the Resident Evil 4 remake, offering his wares to players. Although the shop remains mostly untouched, players are no longer able to kill the Merchant in the remake like they were able to in the original release.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
