They may team up with each other, such as Jill and Chris acting as dual protagonists in the first game, or star alongside a new character fans might never see again, such as Chris and Sheva in Resident Evil 5. Despite their short stay in the series, they still become beloved characters players still hope they will meet again one day. And perhaps they will, but for now, players can only play them in one single game in the franchise.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 follows two scenarios, with one scenario being that of Barry Burton and Natalia Korda, a young girl Barry takes under his wing while searching the island for his daughter Moira. It quickly becomes clear Natalia isn't just an ordinary girl, as she has survived alone on the island until Barry showed up.

Despite this, Natalia still cannot fight in the same way other Resident Evil characters can. She cannot wield any weapons, only stun enemies by throwing objects at them and squeezing into small spaces Barry cannot. This shakes up the normal gameplay in a huge way, offering a break from the gun gameplay that is a major part of the series. Not only this, Natalia is an intriguing character shrouded by mystery which players can find out more about in the DLC 'Little Miss'.

6 Moira Burton

Moira's Character Arc is Nothing Short of Excellent in Resident Evil: Revelations 2

Moira stands in a neutral pose in a well-lit room, facing the camera with a neutral expression.

While Barry investigated the island alongside Natalia, Claire Redfield teamed up with TerraSave's newest recruit and Barry Burton's daughter, Moira. While Claire handled all the gunplay, Moira filled in more of a support role, armed with a crowbar and a flashlight she could use against enemies, as well as opening up new areas and aiding Claire in exploration.

For most of the game, Moira acts like a surly teen, seeming to hold great disdain for her father and any sort of authority. However, Moira does change and mature as the game progresses, becoming a more likable character. The ending scene showing her and Barry reconciling makes Moira an all the more enjoyable character.

In the main game of Village, players need to rescue Ethan's daughter Rose, who has been separated into four parts, one given to each of the Four Lords to protect as Mother Miranda prepares a ritual to use her body to resurrect her own daughter. Ethan is successful in saving her at the cost of his own life. Raised by the US government, Rose hardly leaves a normal life, which grows only less normal when she interacts with the Megamycete in hopes of being freed of her gifts.

As much as some gamers hate downloadable content, there is some really good DLC out there. Sometimes the DLC is even the best part of the game.

Raised by government agents and taught to fight, Rose is thankfully capable of defending herself despite her young age and shows that while she can be a typical teenager, she holds a lot of pain and love, especially for her father. The brief reunion between the two at the end of the DLC is heartbreaking, making Rose a very sympathetic character. But with the Winters story concluded, it's unlikely she will return.

Resident Evil 6 followed interwoven stories of multiple duos, comprised of previous characters players would recognize, (Leon, Chris, Sherry, and Ada) as well as some new companions, one of which was Secret Service Agent Helena Harper. Helena appears in Leon's scenario, which sees the pair forced to kill the President after he is infected with a virus.

The relationship between the two is strained, owing to clashing personalities. Helena, though not an outright villain, can be rather rash and selfish, but it is clear she cares for her sister a great deal as her life was used to force Helena into working alongside Simmons. She is a character with great nuance, the flaws making her an interesting character who sadly had a very short stay in the franchise.

Be prepared to relive the first nightmare in Resident Evil 0, a remastered version of the popular prequel to the original Resident Evil game. This remastered version takes the fear-inducing atmosphere from the original 2002 release and transforms it with stunning new HD visuals, improved sound, widescreen support and an optional modernized control system and more. It’s the best way to experience the story of what really happened before the iconic mansion incident that was the catalyst for the entire Resident Evil saga.

The story of Resident Evil 0 takes players back to 1998. Reports have been mounting about unusual murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The city’s Special Forces division, S.T.A.R.S., sends their Bravo Team - including rookie cop member Rebecca Chambers - to investigate. On route, the team’s helicopter suffers engine trouble and is forced to make a crash landing, where they find an overturned prisoner transport vehicle. Splitting up to search the area, Rebecca discovers the Ecliptic Express, a train stopped dead on the tracks. Inside, she meets death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen. Throughout the game, you will take control of both Rebecca and Billy, at times switching between both characters in order to proceed. Learning the advantages of each character is the key to solving puzzles and surviving the nightmares that lie ahead.

Resident Evil: Best Male Characters, Ranked

The Resident Evil series has been around for a long time. Throughout its run, it has introduced some of the most iconic male characters in gaming.

1

During her exploration, she encounters ex-marine now criminal Billy Coen, who was due to be executed for killing 23 people, but he escaped his prison transport when it crashed close by. The two make an unlikely duo, the stalwart and proper Rebecca, and the laidback Billy who gets a kick out of teasing her. Even though players won't know of his innocence, it is still hard to dislike Billy as he has a rugged charisma about him and perfectly offsets Rebecca's personality, creating an interesting dynamic.

Resident Evil 4 tasked players with rescuing the kidnapped President's daughter from a cult with dangerous ambitions to spread Las Plagas to the United States. For the majority of the game, players will control Leon Kennedy, but there will be a section of the game that forces players into the role of Ashley.

Ashley spends most of the game screaming for help and acting as a damsel in distress, but the section of the castle proves there is more to her, and that she can be resourceful and self-sufficient when the time comes for it. Though Ashley did reappear in a slightly altered castle section in another game, that game was a remake of the original Resident Evil 4, which is largely the same game.

Resident Evil 5 was a divisive game among fans. Though it is viewed more favorably than its successor Resident Evil 6, players were still unsure about Capcom's migration to more action-focused gameplay. Though it did arguably start with Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 only doubled down, to mixed success. This is not to say it's a bad game or widely hated, and part of this has to do with the return of Chris Redfield, and the introduction of his new partner Sheva.

The game was designed to be played cooperatively, with one player controlling series hero Chris and the other playing the newcomer Sheva. Sheva is arguably one of the best parts of the game, as she is a true badass who can hold her own, and maybe even give Chris a run for his money. Though she could never replace Jill, she was still a welcome new addition that players are excited to revisit in a possible Resident Evil 5 remake.
