Geoff Keighley has just confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem, one of 2026's biggest games, will be shown at The Game Awards 2025. Set to air on December 11 at 7:30pm ET, The Game Awards 2025 is already shaping up to be yet another huge event for the gaming industry, with Resident Evil Requiem being just one an ever-growing list of confirmed reveals.

While new Resident Evil announcements have often come during PlayStation State of Plays, Resident Evil Requiem was first officially revealed by Capcom during Summer Game Fest, another Geoff Keighley-hosted event. And though Resident Evil rarely makes an appearance during The Game Awards, Capcom has frequently used the ceremony to announce titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Okami 2, with the latter being The Game Awards 2024's 'one more thing' announcement.

Resident Evil Requiem Will Get a New Trailer at The Game Awards 2025

Capcom is continuing its Game Awards streak this year, with Geoff Keighley officially confirming via an X post that Resident Evil Requiem will receive a "terrifying new look" at The Game Awards 2025. Neither Capcom nor Keighley have confirmed what this new look might entail, but given that Resident Evil Requiem releases in just a few months' time and that fans have already seen several gameplay trailers, it seems likely that Capcom will be pulling back the curtain on more characters and locations that it may have otherwise been keeping secret to this point.

The big question on everyone's mind is if this Resident Evil Requiem Game Awards 2025 trailer will finally be the one to show Leon Kennedy. Long before Requiem was even announced, leakers claimed that Leon Kennedy would be playing a major role in the franchise's next mainline installment. While Leon hasn't been shown in any official capacity yet and Capcom has repeatedly denied any claims that the beloved legacy character is in the game, some leakers have held firm on their belief that Leon Kennedy is in Resident Evil Requiem, such as the leaker Dusk Golem, who has stated multiple times in the last few months that Leon is "100%" is the game.

Regardless of if Leon Kennedy shows up or not, Resident Evil Requiem's Game Awards 2025 trailer is sure to be a thrilling one, and potentially one of the biggest trailers of the night. That said, there's already some fierce competition in that department, with The Game Awards 2025 having several other long-awaited titles confirmed to be making an appearance. The current list of confirmed Game Awards 2025 world premieres looks like this:

  • Resident Evil Requiem ("new look") — Capcom
  • Exodus (new trailer) — Archetype Entertainment
  • Unannounced Total War game ("first small glimpse of gameplay") — Creative Assembly
  • Invincible VS (reveal of an original Invincible character and release date) — Quarter Up
  • Neon Giant's next project

Along with these officially confirmed Game Awards 2025 announcements, there have been a plethora of leaks over the last few days pertaining to this year's ceremony. A trademark for "Control: Resonant" was filed last week, which could potentially be a new project from Remedy Entertainment that's shown at The Game Awards 2025. Ubisoft's rumored Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake is also rumored to appear next week, though the publisher did confirm that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake won't be shown. The most recent Game Awards leak happened just a few hours ago (at the time of writing), with an XCancel user claiming that a new Star Wars game will be revealed during the event, one that isn't Star Wars: Zero Company or Star Wars: Eclipse. Of course, all leaks should always be taken with a pinch of salt, and until these games are officially confirmed to appear, fans shouldn't get their hopes up.
