Resident Evil Requiem Monsters and Umbrella Corporation Teaser
During the September 12, 2025 Nintendo Direct, developer Capcom revealed a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem that confirms the game will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 trailer for the highly-anticipated game includes a new look at some of the enemies Grace will come face-to-face with, including a mysterious woman in a white dress wandering down a hallway and a maid for the hotel bashing her face into a mirror. Audiences also get another glimpse at an unknown male character in an armchair, who many have predicted will be an antagonistic villain of sorts. He can be seen sitting in an armchair and is heard speaking cryptically to grace. The trailer shows a quick glimpse at the logo of the infamous Umbrella Corporation from the Resident Evil series carved into a pillar, suggesting that Grace will have more than just zombified monsters to fight against.
Grace Ashcroft will be the newest mainline Resident Evil protagonist, though rumors have long been swirling that Leon S. Kennedy will appear in Resident Evil Requiem. Whether the enemies and unnamed characters shown in the latest trailer will only be faced by Grace or by other playable characters remains to be seen, but the return of Umbrella has many wondering if the case Grace is investigating has caught the attention of the in-universe government's DSO or even Chris Redfield's B.S.A.A.
Hype for Resident Evil Requiem continues to rise, and a release for the Nintendo Switch 2 gives more players an opportunity to dive into the survival horror of Resident Evil. Fans can uncover the truth behind the mysterious villains, new enemies, and returning Umbrella Corporation when Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026.
