Rick and Morty Season 8, Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Rick and Morty season 8 continues to make fans laugh and think, and the next episode brings back a great character.
Zack Snyder And James Gunn Parodied Themselves On Rick And Morty Season 8, Episode 7
Rick and Morty season 8, episode 7, "Ricker Than Fiction," focuses on the movie franchise that the two main characters are big fans of called Maximum Velocitree. They want to write a new script for it as they're not thrilled with it, which is a great way for the show to reference the many opinions that fans have about beloved franchises. They talk to the franchise director James Gunn, who doesn't give them the answer they want, and then joke around with Zach Snyder. They take Rick's fascinating invention called the Movie-lizer and come up with an ending that they like more. Although "Ricker Than Fiction" is one of the most hilarious Rick and Morty episodes because it has so much pop culture relevance, the ending takes a dark turn.
Scott Marder, an executive producer on Rick and Morty, shared with Variety that one morning, Gunn wrapped up Superman's principal production, then recorded his Rick and Morty lines. Marder noted that although the two filmmakers took a photo and posted it on social media, fans didn't guess that this storyline is why they were together. Snyder also told Marder, "I'll do anything for the show. Throw me a tag,' so it's possible that fans could see him again in a future episode.
Since Snyder and Gunn enjoy Rick and Morty, "they laughed at anything we threw at them," according to Marder. The executive producer also called them "good sports." Marder explained why fans would enjoy the episode:
“I feel like they’re always hungry for classic ‘Rick and Morty’ episodes, ones that feel like a fun plug-and-play, episode-of-the-week. This one feels like it checks that box in a big way, but then has fun surprises.”
As audiences are just days away from seeing Gunn's take on Superman, Gunn and Snyder's Rick and Morty episode came out at just the right time. After the new movie featuring the Man of Steel, fans can look forward to movies about Wonder Woman, Batman, and the upcoming Supergirl. While audiences eagerly await Gunn's version, Snyder has directed several superhero movies, including 2013's Man of Steel, 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and 2017's Justice League.
Rick and Morty season 8, which will have 10 episodes, is currently airing on Adult Swim on Sunday evenings. So far this season, Space Beth (Sarah Chalke) has appeared in a few episodes, which has been fun. The latest season is shining a spotlight on every main character and making sure they get enough screentime. Summer Smith (Spencer Grammer) was the focal point of the season 8 premiere, and episode 4 featured a Jerry Smith (Chris Parnell) storyline. While it can be challenging to balance so many character arcs, Rick and Morty season 8 has made fans happy. Overall, it's been a fun, silly, smart, and intriguing season. Since there is so much attention on Gunn's Superman, it was clever of the show to comment on it.
Superman stars David Corenswet in the main role and also features Rachel Brosnahan as reporter Lois Lane. Other cast members include The Rookie star Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Guy Gardner and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luther.
