How To Watch Rick And Morty Season 8, Episode 8, "Nomortland"

Fans can watch Rick and Morty season 8, episode 8, "Nomortland" on Sunday, July 13th 8th, 2025 at 11 p.m. E.T. On Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network.

The official episode description reads:

"Jerry makes a friend just as jobless as he is."

Jerry Smith (Chris Parnell) has been the focal point of a few Rick and Morty season 8 episodes, and each one has been a joy to watch. In episode 4, "The Last Temptation of Jerry," it's Easter, but the family can't celebrate without some major challenges. Jerry wants to have a great holiday, but something happens that derails the entire celebration. It's always nice when Jerry gets some screen time. While the entire family is goofy, intense, and hilarious, there's something particularly memorable and special about Jerry. While Beth Smith (Sarah Chalke) and Space Beth are fascinating, they're not easy to relate to. Jerry, on the other hand, is more of an everyman. It sounds like Jerry and another character will bond over their unemployment. Since things always go wrong in the Rick and Morty universe, this friendship will likely lead to some major problems for Beth Smith's husband and Summer and Morty's dad.

Chris Parnell described Jerry perfectly in a 2020 interview with SyFy.com, and his comments sum up why Jerry is such a singular character. The actor said:

"Jerry's a bit of a sad sack, but he's not a bad guy. He doesn't always make the best choices, but he tries to be fun and he tries to better himself in little ways. It doesn't take a lot to make Jerry feel satisfied. He's used to living with not a lot in terms of positive reinforcement or encouragement or that kind of thing."

Jerry might not go on adventures like Rick and Morty, and he might have an ordinary and sometimes boring life. He might not make fans laugh as much as some of the other characters. But when he does get involved in the chaos that surrounds his family, his happy-go-lucky personality makes him fun to watch.

Rick and Morty Anime Jerry

Rick and Morty season 8, episode 7, "Ricker Than Fiction," finds Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith trying to solve the problems that they have with a popular movie franchise. Zack Snyder and James Gunn parody themselves, which is entertaining.

Although several fans enjoyed the episodes, others thought it was alright, but not one of the better storylines in season 8. However, several viewers praised the important role that Jerry has in "Ricker Than Fiction." Redditor @anonfjr wrote, "Great episode, we are back baby." One Redditor wrote, "Jerry was the highlight for me." Redditor @Lopsided-Hearing-953 added, "I was happy to see Jerry playing a key role." Fans will likely be pleased that the upcoming episode will put Jerry in the spotlight once again.
