The thrill of combat is always something to look forward to in Rise of the Ronin, as the enemies are always more than capable of dealing a fatal blow and ending the lives of any unprepared warrior. It is equally important to have a good defense as well as a good offense, and ultimately, the more health players have, the easier it will be for them to tough it out against the more difficult foes.
While other role-playing games may allow players to gain more health by leveling up or through story progression, this is not the case in Team Ninja's latest game. For those hoping to learn the secrets of how to increase max health in Rise of the Ronin, let this guide help.

How to Increase Max Health in Rise of the Ronin
While it may feel natural for your maximum health to increase as you venture deeper into the narrative of Rise of the Ronin, the game keeps true to its challenging nature by not doing that. Instead, like many of the other attributes in the action RPG, the only way to increase your maximum health is through the skill tree.
More specifically, players will have to accrue Skill Points and Rare Skill Points in order to reach the node on the skill tree. Under the Strength portion of the Stats tab, navigate to the third column from the left. Players will have to put points into Auto-Life Recovery (Out of Battle), Unarmed Counterspark, and Decreased Ki Consumption (Guarding) before they can reach the important Increase Max Health node.
Each level of the skill will provide a boost to the maximum health of the player in Rise of the Ronin, starting with a 4.5% increase, followed by 9.0%, 13.5%, and finally, 18.0%. The aforementioned Skill Points will go to unlocking the preceding skills, whereas players will need to use Rare Strength Skill Points to unlock each level of the Increase Max Health node.
How to Get Rare Strength Skill Points
These variant skill points are not given by leveling up, but instead, players must put effort into forging personal bonds with certain characters, fighting and defeating fugitives located around the world, and completing certain quests in order to be rewarded with Strength Skill Points. Be sure to hone in on these activities if you hope to make Strength a key stat.
