The samurai RPG Rise of the Ronin is a PS5 exclusive that follows the story of a Ronin, a samurai without a master, set in the Bakumatsu period of Japan. Since its release on March 22, the game has gone on to receive positive reviews, naturally drawing the interest of players. Thanks to the niche's rising popularity following releases like Nioh and Ghost of Tsushima, Rise of Ronin's take on Samurai and Japan has already struck a chord with a sizable audience.

Rise of the Ronin developer Team Ninja recently released updates 1.02 and 1.03 within the space of a few days. In the 1.02 update, which launched on March 29, the developer brought a range of different fixes. The patch notes reveal that a bug where the enemies would become invincible or would have their character models or weapons disappear has been resolved. Moreover, the update also sorted out a bug in which an obtained skill or gadget stood a chance of getting lost for no reason. This particular bug fix will be retroactively implemented, meaning that those who lost unlocked items due to this bug will get those items back without starting a new campaign. Given how powerful some of Rise of the Ronin's weapons are, this fix could be seen as highly important.
Moving on, the 1.03 update, which arrived on April 4, revealed a few more changes that included a fix for a bug where the player would get locked out of a certain region of Rise of the Ronin's sprawling open world after exiting multiplayer. Another key change in this patch prevents the player's rifle from becoming unusable when doing certain weapon switching. These two fixes will also be reflected in the player's existing save files once the latest update has been applied.
Following Ghost of Tsushima's success in 2020, Rise of the Ronin has turned out to be yet another positively received entry in the Samurai game category. Other Team Ninja games, namely Nioh and Nioh 2, are also a part of this popular niche. With Sucker Punch Productions looking to build upon the success of its own Samurai game, the next big arrival for the fans of this genre could be the rumored Ghost of Tsushima 2.
