RoadCraft puts you in charge of a disaster recovery company, where your job is to use your construction machinery to rebuild infrastructure and restart industries in areas ravaged by natural disasters. Since it’s designed with realistic physics in mind, you'll need to consider terrain, vehicle weight, friction, and speed as you reshape the environment.
Depending on the task at hand, the terrain, and the resources required, you will need to switch vehicles to complete your objectives efficiently. You'll constantly find yourself swapping between trucks, cranes, loaders, and all the other heavy machinery you've unlocked. If you’re not sure how, this guide can help you easily switch between vehicles in RoadCraft.

How To Switch Vehicles in RoadCraft
Even though it detracts from the realism, RoadCraft lets you switch vehicles in seconds if you follow the steps correctly. Here’s how to swap your current vehicle:
- Open your map. You'll see various tabs like "Infrastructure," "Objectives," "Bridges," and, most importantly, for this task, "Vehicles." Press "Tab" on the keyboard, the View button on Xbox, or the Touchpad on PlayStation to access the map.
- Go to the Vehicles tab. Here, you'll see a complete list of all your available machines. Your currently active vehicle will be highlighted with a green mark on its icon. From here, you have two options for any other vehicle:
- Focus Camera: Selecting this will pan your camera to the chosen vehicle's location on the map, giving you a quick overview of its surroundings.
- Enter Vehicle: This is your instant swap option. Choosing "Enter Vehicle" will immediately switch you into the driver's seat of the selected machine. This way, you can seamlessly transition between tasks across the vast maps.
One thing players need to keep in mind is that switching vehicles doesn't "teleport" the new vehicle to your current location. Instead, you'll instantly appear at the last spot where that vehicle was left. This means you really need to be mindful of where you leave your vehicles, or you'll waste valuable time driving back and forth.
There will be times when your vehicle gets stuck, and you can’t find a way to get it moving again. If you ever find yourself completely stuck or need to transport a vehicle back to a major checkpoint quickly, you can use the "Recover" feature. Simply hold "R" to reset your vehicle's position and choose a recovery point. You’ll be given two options: Recovery Area and Forward Base.
