Controversial Roblox CEO David Baszucki's account for the popular online gaming platform had seemingly been suspended or otherwise deleted for several hours, but it's currently back up and running again. Baszucki has been an instrumental figurehead for Roblox for more than 20 years, and the temporary disappearance of his account raised a lot of eyebrows among the game platform's community.
Baszucki established Roblox alongside co-founder Erik Cassel in 2004, providing a free-to-play gaming and game creation platform that has grown immensely since it was released to the public in 2006. Player counts for games like Grow a Garden have surpassed Fortnite, while Brookhaven RP, Blox Fruits, and Adopt Me have each registered at least 40 billion visits as of July 2025, according to Statista.
Rumor: Chris Hansen Is Planning a Documentary on Roblox
To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen is reportedly planning a documentary on the concerning things happening on the gaming platform Roblox.
Roblox CEO David Baszucki's Profile Disappears and Reappears
Amid Roblox showing rising user growth and engagement, some players had noted that Baszucki's official Roblox profile appeared to have recently disappeared from the platform on August 15, 2025, though it was once again visible the next day. The CEO does not seem to have publicly addressed the reason why players had been unable to find his profile for several hours. His social media presence around the time during which his profile appeared to be unavailable was centered around Roblox's safety initiatives and rules regarding romantic and sexual content, while there has been no activity on his Twitter profile since the account's reappearance.
The disappearing account comes at an odd time, as Baszucki seems to be bearing the brunt of the backlash over child safety concerns regarding the platform. These concerns ramped up significantly in early August after the parents of a 13-year-old girl sued Roblox following her alleged kidnapping by a 37-year-old who had been posing as a teenager on the platform. A subsequent lawsuit filed by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murril accuses Roblox of "permitting and perpetuating an online environment in which child predators thrive," calling out numerous safety concerns which include the lack of parental consent or age verification to access the platform.
There is currently a petition calling for the Roblox CEO's resignation or removal on Change.org that has amassed more than 92,000 online signatures. This petition addresses many of the concerns mentioned in the above lawsuits. To Catch a Predator' s Chris Hansen is also reportedly working on a documentary concerning Roblox.
