In Roblox’s Grow A Garden, you get to take care of your own digital garden, where fruits can grow massive and show off unique patterns and designs. While checking out your garden (or visiting your neighbor's), you might have spotted fruits that look a bit different. Some are dripping water, some are frozen solid, and some have shiny stars sparkling around them.
These are called mutations, and every Grow A Garden player should know about them. They’re a big part of what can turn you into a millionaire (or even a billionaire) in this cute botanical sim. So, if you're wondering what each mutation does and how to get them on your crops, this guide has got you covered.
Updated by Somiya Adrees on September 22, 2025: This article covers the value of all mutations up to the 1.24.0 update with the latest multipliers. This also includes the event variants, as players can still trigger some of them using tools and pets by trading with others.
How to Get Mutations in Grow a Garden
Mutations are basically cool changes that happen to your plants. Some depend on weather events, while others can be activated by using tools, setups, or special variant seeds. They not only make your garden look way more colorful and shiny, but also help you get rich real quick.
Getting mutations on your fruits and veggies can seriously boost their selling price. Below is a list of all the mutations in the game, how much each one sells for, and easy ways to grow them faster.
|
All Mutations |
Sell Value |
How to Get Them |
|---|---|---|
|
Big |
1x Value (but it can increase with the fruit’s weight) |
Place sprinklers near your fruits; each one is available at the Gear Shop. The mutation can kick in at any time, but only a small patch of nearby fruits will grow bigger. It’s a great way to earn money if the fruit already has other mutations on it or if you’re testing the sprinkler glitch to make it massive. |
|
Ripe |
1x Value |
Each in-game day, there's a chance a Sugar Apple will mutate on its own and change in appearance. This variant only applies to Sugar Apples and doesn’t affect their selling value. |
|
Wet |
2x Value |
Wait for rainy weather (it usually shows up every 10 to 15 minutes), and let your crops soak. Rain can bless all your harvests, but there's only about a 50% chance they'll get the Wet mutation. You can also use Mutation Spray Wet to snag these kinds of plants. |
|
Chilled |
2x Value |
This one sparks in frost weather, which can randomly pop up on the server. Just keep an eye on your crops while the weather is active; there’s a good chance they’ll pick it up on their own. Players can also use the Chilled Mutation Spray (created at the Crafting Tables), or a Polar Bear to force the Chilled Mutation on their plants. |
|
Moonlit |
2x Value |
This mutation can occur automatically on some of your plants during a Night Event. Placing a Night Staff in your garden can help trigger it faster. |
|
Windstruck |
2x Value |
During the Windy or Gale weather, strong gusts may trigger the Windstruck mutation on your plants. A pet with the Windy mutation or a Mutation Spray Windstruck can also do this. |
|
2x Value |
Set a Chocolate Sprinkler next to your seeds or plants, or use the Mutation Spray Choc to start collecting chocolate fruits as they ripen. You can also wait for Chocolate Rain to get this variant. |
|
|
Glimmering |
2x Value |
Mainly, you get this mutation when the Fairy Event activates, whether you’re online or offline. You can also get Glimmering Mutation on fruits in Grow a Garden by interacting with Roaming Fairies (increase their number by spending Fairy Points at the Fairy Godmother NPC), spraying fruits with Mutation Spray Glimmering, or using pets like the Glimmering Sprite or those with Glimmering Shards equipped. |
|
Sandy |
3x Value |
When there’s a Sandstorm Weather on the server (it happens naturally), the dust floating around will turn your fruits Sandy. Plus, a Jackalope pet can now apply this mutation too. |
|
3x Value |
Let the Bee Swarm event start or have special bees bite crops on your farm, especially Honey Bees, Wasps, Tarantula Hawks, Bees, Petal Bees, and Queen Bees. |
|
|
Sauce |
3x Value |
Drop the Spaghetti Sloth pet in your garden, and it might give you this mutation every 3 to 14 minutes. |
|
Meatball |
3x Value |
Just like Sauce, Meatball can also be applied by the Spaghetti Sloth pet. |
|
Pasta |
3x Value |
A Spaghetti Sloth can force it every 3 to 14 minutes, though it's rarer than the Sauce and Meatball mutations. |
|
Aromatic |
3x Value |
Previously obtainable on a plant during the Kitchen Storm event. Currently, it can be applied with pets that have an Aromatic Pet Shard equipped. |
|
Burnt |
4x Value |
Use a Cooked Owl in your garden to turn your crops into the Burnt variant every 15.01 minutes. Players can also use the Burnt Mutation Spray to receive this mutation. |
|
Cracked |
4x Value |
This mutation shows up on your crops during Earthquake weather, which hits the server occasionally at any time of the in-game day. Players can also drop the Badger pet to have it on fruits. |
|
Fall |
4x Value |
Give 500 points worth of plants to the Harvest Spirit during the Fall Update, or let the Grizzly Bear handle it. The Fall Fountain Cosmetic can also occasionally apply this. |
|
Verdant |
4x Value |
Hatch the Scarlet Macaw from the Paradise Egg and place it on your plot. Alternatively, sprinkle Mutation Spray Verdant over the fruit, or wait for Solar Flare or Sunset weather for this mutation. |
|
Silver |
5x Value |
Can be triggered with Silver Fertilizer, using the Cockatrice pet, or by activating all eight crystals in the Crystal Beams Event. |
|
Clay |
5x Value |
Let your Wet fruits pick up the Sandy variant during Sandstorms to trigger the Clay Mutation. |
|
5x Value |
When the Blood Moon weather hits the server, some of your plants might randomly gain the Bloodlit mutation. Using a Night Staff nearby can boost the chances. |
|
|
Drenched |
5x Value |
While playing, the Tropical Rain weather may activate, turning the screen green, and large droplets of water touch your crops, making them Drenched. This mutation also shows up during the Rain Dance or Tsunami weather. |
|
HoneyGlazed |
5x Value |
Set a Honey Sprinkler on your plot; it’ll work for a minute and turn your crops HoneyGlazed. Or drop a Bear Bee or use Mutation Spray HoneyGlazed. |
|
5x Value |
Hop into the server during the Floating Jandel event (usually during Live Update launches), where a monkey rests mid-air and turns your crops Heavenly. |
|
|
Plasma |
5x Value |
When the Lazer event happens, a giant monkey might target your plot with red laser beams, giving your crops the Plasma mutation. Players can also use a Peach Wasp pet to get it after the 1.20.0 update. |
|
Twisted |
5x Value |
If a Tornado Event starts while you're on the server, it might sweep through your garden and apply this variant to a few crops. Alternatively, a Pterodactyl pet can also force this mutation with 18.68% chance. |
|
Cloudtouched |
5x Value |
Sprinkle the Cloudtouched Mutation Spray on your fruits to get six Cloudtouched variants from a single item. Or throw in a Hyacinth Macaw; it can turn them Cloudtouched too, though it only has a 15.74% chance every eight minutes. |
|
Fried |
8x Value |
If the admins spawn the Fried Chicken event, fried chunks will fall on your plot, and a couple of fruits will become this version. Plus, you can try Mutation Spray Fried or apply its special shard on any random pet to grab these fruits. |
|
Static |
8x Value |
Use the Corrupted event's special Raiju fox in your garden, and it’ll automatically turn some plants into Static variants every 10.30 minutes. |
|
Bloom |
8x Value |
Use the Mutation Spray Bloom to get this variant, or drop a Spriggan pet to apply this mutation to your fruits. |
|
Rot |
8x Value |
Leave a Mandrake pet in your plot, then harvest the newly added Mandrake crop from your garden to have this mutation applied to a random fruit. |
|
Frozen |
10x Value |
Once your fruits and veggies get the Wet mutation, hold off on picking them. When frost weather hits or a Polar Bear is active, those crops might turn into Frozen ones. You can also use a Frozen-mutated pet to get this variant. |
|
Cooked |
10x Value |
You can only get this variant from a Cooked Owl. Leave it in your garden, and it has a 15.28% chance to randomly cook fruits. Its ability resets every 15.01 minutes, which you can reduce by aging it. |
|
Amber |
10x Value |
Pour the Amber Mutation Spray on your fruits to get this variant. Alternatively, you can also use a Raptor. However, this pet usually only turns harvested fruits into Amber variants, so if you’re aiming to stack the mutation, the spray is the better option. |
|
12x Value |
Combine the Twisted and Windstruck mutations on a fruit or use Pterodactyl pet to get this variant. |
|
|
Acidic |
15x Value |
When Acid Rain spawns naturally, it starts turning the server green. Any raindrops that fall on your plants will turn them Acidic. |
|
Chakra |
15x Value |
Put a Kitsune in your garden, and it’ll turn someone else’s fruit into this type and bring it to you. |
|
CorruptChakra |
15x Value |
Only a Corrupted Kitsune can trigger this mutation on your fruits every 20.56 minutes, though there's only a 20.24% chance it will succeed. |
|
Spaghetti |
15x Value |
Just keep your fruits hanging on the plants until they get the three food variants: Pasta, Sauce, and Meatball. Then, the plant will gain the Spaghetti mutation. |
|
Oil |
15x Value |
An exclusive Oil Rain weather will hit the server, soaking plants down to their roots with oil and turning them into this variant. Outside the event, you can still trigger this mutation using the Junkbot pet, which was specially gifted in update 1.18.0. |
|
Boil |
15x Value |
Similar to Oil Rain, there’s also Boil Rain weather. However, unlike Oil Rain, it can only be triggered by an admin, usually before the launch of updates. This weather can turn your fruits into this variant. |
|
Gnomed |
15x Value |
A Gnome pet can help you snag Gnomed mutation fruits from your garden with a 1.05% chance. Placing more Gnome-type cosmetics in your plot increases the odds. |
|
Toxic |
15x Value |
Place the Cockatrice pet in your plot; it can give 7 to 8 fruits Toxic Mutation every 9.12 minutes. |
|
Jackpot |
15x Value |
When an admin starts the Money Rain, and it drops on fruits, they’ll get the Jackpot mutation. |
|
Golden |
20x Value |
|
|
Eclipsed |
20x Value |
During the Solar Eclipse event, the server darkens, and players are alerted that certain fruits have absorbed this mutation. |
|
Tranquil |
20x Value |
Previously, this mutation could be obtained during the Zen Event when the Zen Aura hit your fruits, or by using the Tranquil Staff to attract the aura to special plants. Now, you can trigger it by placing a Tanchozuru or Kodama in your plot, using a Tranquil-mutated pet equipped with a Tranquil Pet Shard. |
|
Corrupted |
20x Value |
Can be acquired during Corrupted Aura Weather in the Corrupted update, when cursed energy targets your fruits. You can also use a Corrupted Kodama, a Pet Shard Corrupted, and a Corrupt Staff to get these kinds of plants. |
|
OldAmber |
20x Value |
After a full day (24 hours) with the Amber Mutation, your Amber plants will turn into OldAmber. This will remove the Amber multiplier and apply its new one instead. |
|
Zombified |
25x Value |
Just drop a Chicken Zombie on your farmland, and it’ll grant some of your fruits this greenish mutation. |
|
25x Value |
Once the devs kick off the Volcano Event and giant molten chunks float into your garden, certain plants will pick up this mutation. |
|
|
Flaming |
25x Value |
Appears on crops only when forced by the Phoenix pet, which you can get from the Enchanted Chest in the Fairy Event’s second update, or trade with other players. |
|
Ceramic |
32x Value |
It usually appears when your Clay fruits are stacked with the Burnt or Sundried mutation. You can also get this variant by combining Clay with Cooked, Molten, Fried, Meteoric, or Plasma mutations. |
|
Gloom |
30x Value |
Just like Ceramic, you can add two mutations to a fruit: Bloom and Rot, using related pets or sprays to transform it into the Gloom variant. |
|
Harmonized Chakra |
35x Value |
Place a Kitsune and a Corrupted Kitsune on your farm, either together or one at a time, and let your fruits receive both Chakra and Corrupted Chakra mutations to become this exclusive Harmonized Chakra variant in Grow a Garden. |
|
Corrosive |
40x Value |
A mutation that forms when Acadic and Toxic appear together on a plant; both are automatically removed and replaced with this third one. |
|
Subzero |
40x Value |
Tornadoes start swirling through the plots during Route Runner weather, blessing your plants with the Subzero mutation. You can also gain this mutation during Frozen Ice King wetaher. |
|
Junkshock |
45x Value |
A special Junkbot Raid weather event was triggered during the Albert admin abuse in update 1.18.0, where the sky was filled with Junkbots fighting each other, turning your fruits into this variant. Wait for this admin weather to get these fruits. |
|
Rainbow |
50x Value |
This one can show up on its own, but it’s pretty rare. To get it faster, you can buy Super Seeds from the Premium Shop, use gear like Godly, Master or Grandmaster Sprinklers, drop variant pets like Praying Mantis, Blood Hedgehog, Bacon Pig, Pig, or leave a Butterfly in your garden. |
|
AncientAmber |
50x Value |
After 2 days, fruits with the OldAmber mutation will turn into AncientAmber, increasing their value 50 times. However, OldAmber’s 20x multiplier will be removed. |
|
Cyclonic |
50x Value |
Right now, the only way to get Cyclonic fruits is by using a Griffin pet in your garden. There’s a 1% chance of obtaining one from a Skyroot Chest. |
|
Blitzshock |
50x Value |
It’s a celebrity event where the Lightning Storm weather appears, triggered only by admins. During it, a lightning-filled football drops onto the ground, and fruits in your garden can get this mutation. |
|
Sliced |
50x Value |
This mutation shows up during the Jandel’s Knives event when an admin spawns the Chef Monkey. He’ll chop up the cooked chicken, and that’s when your fruits can get the Sliced mutation. |
|
Lightcycle |
50x Value |
When admins start the Stoplight event (similar to Squid Game’s red light, green light), a Blood Owl spawns on the server. You only need to be online during the event; participation isn’t required to get this mutation. |
|
Fortune |
50x Value |
While the Fortune mutation is unique to the Golden Egg plant from the Golden Goose, it can also be forced onto other fruits by selling the Golden Egg at Steven’s Stall. |
|
Luminous |
50x Value |
After the Fairy Event ended, you can get the Luminous mutation on fruits by using a Mutation Spray Luminous or a Luminous Sprite pet. |
|
Radioactive |
55x Value |
Once an admin spawns the Radioactive Carrot event, a giant rocket appears behind the Gear Shop. Keep loading it with carrots until it's ready to launch; after that, your plants will start getting this mutation. |
|
Blazing |
52x Value |
Pair Molten and Flaming mutations on a plant to convert it into this mutation. The two will be removed, and you can’t apply them again on a plant that already has Blazing. |
|
Friendbound |
70x Value |
It can randomly show up on your plants if you use more Friendship Pots in gardens linked with friends and keep your streaks going every day. |
|
Infected |
75x Value |
During the Brains event (triggered by Jandel), let the spawned zombies infect your fruits with this variant. |
|
Warped |
75x Value |
An Apple Gazelle critter can trigger this mutation on a random fruit with a 2.08% chance, but only when you harvest Sugar Apples. |
|
Graceful |
77x Value |
You need a Swan pet to apply the Graceful mutation on plants. It’s obtainable from the Fall Egg with a 1% chance. |
|
Sundried |
85x Value |
Players can grab this variant when Heatwave Weather hits the server and sunbeams strike your crops. You can boost the likelihood by using a Tanning Mirror (available at the Gear Shop) near your desired crops to attract sunbeams. |
|
Glitched |
85x Value |
Fruits can gain the Glitched Mutation during Dissonant Weather, an admin-spawned weather added in the 1.21.0 update. During this weather, bolts can transform fruits into this variant. |
|
FoxfireChakra |
90x Value |
You can only get this one with a Kitsune pet. Every 22 minutes, it has a small chance to turn a fruit into this variant for you. |
|
CorruptFoxfireChakra |
90x Value |
Once a Corrupted Kitsune is in your plot, it’ll send energy balls to nine fruits every 20.56 minutes. There’s a very small chance that some of those fruits will receive this mutation. |
|
Aurora |
90x Value |
At random in-game hours, the Aurora Borealis weather will light up the sky with northern lights, and during that time, your plants will gain the Aurora mutation. |
|
Maelstrom |
100x Value |
Try pairing the Cyclonic and Tempestuous mutations on a fruit to obtain this variant. |
|
Brainrot |
100x Value |
A Lemon Lion pet can activate the Brainrot mutation on any fruit every five minutes. |
|
Shocked |
100x Value |
You can get this mutation when lightning hits your crops during thunderstorm weather. Since the odds are low, it’s a good idea to place a Lightning Rod in your garden to help trigger it. You can also use a Shocked pet to grab these kinds of fruits. |
|
Beanbound |
100x Value |
It’s a new Dawnbound-like mutation that requires friends. In this Beanstalk admin event, introduced during the Admin Abuse War, four players must hold a Beanstalk and present it to the Bean NPC that appears behind the Gear Shop. |

100x Value |
This is one of the admin-exclusive mutations that can show up on your fruits during the Alien Invasion Event when the UFO flying over the server affects the plants. |
|
Paradisal |
100x Value |
If your crop gets both Verdant and Sundried mutations, it will shift into the Paradisal variant. |
|
Touchdown |
105x Value |
During Post Dunk weather, Travis Kelce NPC appears gripping a portal, giving all gardens across the server an increased chance to grow the Touchdown variant. |
|
120x Value |
This variant can appear when a meteor hits your crops during Meteor Shower weather. To raise your chances, set a Star Caller in your plot; it helps attract falling stars. |
|
|
Galactic |
120x Value |
During the Space Travel Event (triggered by an admin), the whole server will launch into space, and a few crops will gain this variant. |
|
Disco |
125x Value |
Wait for an admin to start the Disco Event. During it, your avatar will dance, and some fruits in your garden will develop this bold, colorful mutation. You can also leave a Disco Bee to get this variant. |
|
Meteoric |
125x Value |
Different from Celestial, this mutation also shows up during the Meteor Shower weather. You’ll need to be online during that time to have a shot at getting it. |
|

When the Black Hole Event triggers (only devs can activate it), some of your fruits turn Voidtouched. Outside the event, you can use the Space Squirrel pet, which can also activate it. |
|
|
150x Value |
Once Jandel kicks off the Sun Event, gather four players, each holding a Sunflower, and show them to the Golden Monkey to trigger the mutation. Or just get the Ascended mutation on a pet; this can randomly turn your fruits into Dawnbound every 5 to 6 hours. |

Pair the Meteoric and Blazing mutations on a single fruit to obtain this unique mutation. |

Once you join the HarmonisedFoxfireChakra and HarmonisedChakra on a fruit, it will evolve into the Ascended version. |
|
Abyssal |
240x Value |
Just unite the Voidtouched and Eclipsed mutations to get this one on your plants. |
|
Cosmic |
240x Value |
When Celestial and Aurora mutations pair on a fruit, it transforms into a Cosmic Mutation. Both mutations and their multipliers are replaced by Cosmic, and they can’t be stacked again |
How to Stack Mutations in Grow a Garden
Perhaps one of the coolest parts of Grow a Garden is how mutations can stack. That means a single plant can have more than one mutation at once. When that happens, its price can shoot up to billions and even trillions. To stack mutations in Grow a Garden, let your crops soak up more mutations during weather and events, or by using sprinklers and other items.
While it may seem rewarding to combine all mutations on a plant, it isn’t entirely possible in the game since some mutations can’t exist together on the same fruit. To make it simple, here’s a breakdown of the mutations where only one can be stacked on a fruit:
- Gold / Silver / Rainbow
- Cooked / Burnt
- Clay / Ceramic
- Corrosive / Acidic and Toxic
- Paradisal / Verdant / Sundried
- Tempestuous / Windstruck and Twisted
- Frozen / Chilled and Wet or Drenched
- Cosmic / Aurora and Celestial
- Stormcharged / Static, Shocked and Tempestuous
- Abyssal / Eclipsed and Voidtouched
- HarmonisedChakra / Chakra / CorruptChakra
- HarmonisedFoxfireChakra / FoxfireChakra / CorruptFoxfireChakra
- AscendedChakra / HarmonisedFoxfireChakra / HarmonisedChakra
In Grow a Garden, Silver, Gold, and Rainbow are considered variants. They add a special variant bonus when calculating the value of fruits after mutations are applied to them. To maximize profit, aim for Rainbow, since it gives a +50 variant bonus.
Here’s how wild the prices can get when mutations stack:

Best Mutations in Grow a Garden
Here are some other top-tier standalone mutations you can grab daily if you’re looking to farm lots of Sheckles.
- HarmonisedFoxfireChakra is also a valuable mutation, but you’ll only get it if you’ve either hatched or traded for both a Kitsune and a Corrupted Kitsune.
- Dawnbound is also one of the best standalone mutations in Grow a Garden. Thankfully, after the Pets Mutations update, it’s no longer locked to just sunflowers; you can now make any critter Ascended and use it to grab Dawnbound fruits every day.
- The Voidtouched mutation is now available with the Space Squirrel pet and can seriously increase your fruit’s value.
- Celestial and Meteoric are both great picks for F2P players. They show up in Meteor Shower weather, though Celestial is a bit more common than Meteoric.
- Disco is undoubtedly another profitable variant of GaG that’s also easy to get. Just use Disco Bees to collect multiple of these every in-game day.
Galactic and Touchdown are fantastic too, but they're tough to get since they rely on admins starting the events. So, this section lists the more accessible options instead. For a detailed look at the most profitable mutations, check out our Best Mutations Tier List here.
