The highly-anticipated update for Grow a Garden didn’t launch as planned due to a Roblox crash. So, instead, the devs dropped a smaller 1.07.0 Cosmetics Farm update that brought new content like decor items, a garden expansion system, the limited-time Twilight Shop, and, of course, a new Plasma mutation.
While there are already 12 variants to apply to your crops, Plasma is another fantastic addition to the ever-growing roster. Here's how you can get the Plasma mutation in Grow a Garden and how it affects the selling value of your fruits and veggies .
Grow A Garden: All Mutations (& How to Get Them)
Mutations are a fun part of Roblox's Grow A Garden that give you special plants. Here's a quick guide on the different types and how to get them.
How to Get the Plasma Mutation in Grow a Garden
To get the Plasma Mutation in Grow a Garden, you’ll need to wait for the Lazer Event. This event, like the Disco, is admin-exclusive, meaning that only a GaG dev can trigger it on a server. While it was introduced with the quick "apology update" after the failed launch, it's actually pretty useful since it can significantly increase your crop prices.
Specifically, any crop that gets the Plasma mutation will sell for five times more than its normal price. So, it’s fair to say Plasma is better than Chilled, Wet, Big, Chocolate, Bloodlit, and Moonlit mutations.
The way it works is fun, too. When the Lazer Event starts, a massive monkey in a suit and hat shows up on the server and fires red lasers at players’ farms. If, by chance, the laser lands on your garden and strikes your fruits, they’ll instantly gain the Plasma mutation. These mutated fruits glow neon pink with a thin layer of red ice around them, making them stand out from the rest of your garden.
According to Grow a Garden’s official Discord, Plasma is a permanent mutation, so even if you missed it during the 1.07.0 Update release time, you can still get it in future Lazer Events.
How to Get the Lazer Event in Grow a Garden
The Lazer event depends on admins instead of the environment, but there are two ways you can catch it in Grow a Garden:
During Live Update Launches
This event might pop up when a new GaG update goes live, just like the Disco Event. The devs usually trigger mutation events (including exclusive ones) multiple times during launch time, so there's a big likelihood that it will drop and turn your crops into Plasma variants.
Random Dev Visits
GaG devs sometimes jump into both public and private servers and use commands to chat with players. This usually happens a few days or even hours before an update comes out, so you can stick to the game during these key days to experience the Lazer Event.
