From even its earliest days, Rockstar was trying to push technical boundaries, with games like Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club showing the developer's technical prowess. This trend has only grown more prominent over the years, with Rockstar really making a name for itself in the early 2000s and 2010s with the sixth console generation Grand Theft Auto trilogy, and eventually Red Dead Redemption.

With Rockstar's games often being some of the most content-rich, they've become a staple of any hardcore PlayStation Trophy hunter's mantle. But anyone looking to earn a coveted Rockstar Platinum Trophy should be warned, they're certainly not for the faint of heart, with some taking over 200 hours to obtain.

S-Tier Rockstar Games Platinums

The Most Grueling Rockstar Platinum Journeys

Widely regarded as one of the most grueling Platinum Trophy journeys in all of gaming, Red Dead Redemption 2's Platinum takes well over 200 hours to obtain, with some reports putting it closer to 300 hours. Along with finishing its 60-hour campaign, Red Dead Redemption 2's Platinum requires the player to finish just about every piece of side content in the game, such as the infamous Zoologist Trophy that requires players to study every animal in the game, or the Gold Rush Trophy that requires the player to earn 70 gold medals during its main story. Red Dead Redemption 2's online trophies can also be a real thorn in the player's side, taking almost 100 hours of playtime in their own right.

Grand Theft Auto 4 takes significantly less time to complete than Red Dead Redemption 2, but it's often ranked as one of the most difficult Platinum journeys in Rockstar history for one big reason: its multiplayer servers. While GTA 4's servers are still up, it can often be difficult to find a lobby full enough to earn the game's online trophies naturally.

A-Tier Rockstar Games Platinums

Some Long and Difficult Rockstar Platinum Journeys

Though it takes as long as Red Dead Redemption 2 to complete and includes its own fair share of online trophies, it isn't quite as difficult to earn Grand Theft Auto 5's Platinum. Many of GTA 5's trophies simply require the player to grind away for hours, which can still be frustrating, but not quite as tricky as Red Dead 2.

B-Tier Rockstar Games Platinums

Difficult But Fun Rockstar Platinum Journeys

Unlike its sequel, the first Red Dead Redemption has a challenging but satisfying Platinum journey that sees players experience everything the game has to offer, while not forcing them to repeat the same mind-numbing activities ad nauseam. Though Manhunt is one of the shorter Platinum journeys on this tier list, it's slightly more difficult than others below it due to its Hardcore difficulty requirement. L.A. Noire's Platinum isn't quite as rewarding as Red Dead or Manhunt's due to its overreliance on using a guide to earn five stars in each mission, but it's not too difficult.

C-Tier Rockstar Games Platinums

Relatively Easy Rockstar Platinum Journeys

Generally speaking, each game in the Grand Theft Auto Definitive Trilogy has a pretty simple Platinum journey, at least when compared to the Rockstar games that are ranked above it. The same can be said for Bully, which takes just 20 hours to complete fully and earn the Platinum.
