The ROG Xbox Ally handheld system could start at approximately £500, according to a leak posted by a British retail worker on social media. Although the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X systems are expected to go live on Thursday, October 16, the official prices have not been revealed by Microsoft or ASUS due to the ongoing tariff situation affecting the global economy.
Following their global reveal during the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, details about the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X handhelds trickled out over the summer. Although Microsoft and ASUS confirmed during Gamescom that the system would be available starting October 16, the companies stopped short of officially naming the prices of each iteration. The price reveal delay on the ROG Xbox Ally was due to global tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on various goods, including video game consoles and other consumer electronics manufactured in China and other nations.

Costco shoppers in certain regions report that the Xbox section has been removed from the wholesaler's website, prompting confusion.
Xbox ROG Ally Could Be Priced Lower Than Expected
Although rumors about the ROG Xbox Ally should be taken with a grain of salt, a British retail worker has posted some potential evidence about its price. As spotted by Pure Xbox, a Redditor named FriendlyPharma posted two pictures of the ROG Xbox Ally's potential price on the Xbox Ally subreddit. The pictures were taken from the UK retailer Argos, and revealed that the ROG Xbox Ally (non-X) system would start at £499.99 after taxes. Preorders of the system were also stated to begin on September 24, according to Argos' advertisements. When converted to US dollars before taxes, the price could be approximately $550 to start. This would corroborate a past rumor about the ROG Xbox Ally's price, which claimed to start at €599.
Interestingly, the second image posted by FriendlyPharma had a few errors. Not only is the product mislabeled as the "Asus Xbox Rog Ally" by Argos, but the image used is for the original ROG Ally X system. However, the elephant in the room remains the US government's tariffs on goods from China and other countries where Microsoft and ASUS host manufacturing. The tariffs have subsequently forced Microsoft to raise prices on Xbox Series X/S consoles starting October 3. The markup will be the second one done by Microsoft in 2025, and will bring the Xbox Series S 512GB to $399.99, a $100 increase from its 2020 launch price.
The ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X will launch on October 16 and are expected to compete with the Nintendo Switch 2 in the handheld gaming space. It remains to be seen what the official prices of the ROG Xbox Ally lineup will be.
