Taking inspiration from Dead Cells, a massive indie hit from Motion Twin, The Rogue Prince of Persia is a side-scrolling roguelike from Evil Empire, the minds behind the paid DLCs of Dead Cells. Therefore, it's no surprise that the game is a hit among fans of the genre.
One feature that shares many similarities between the two games, is the weapon crafting system. Though The Rogue Prince of Persia has a significantly lower weapon count, it handles them similarly to Dead Cells.
The Rogue Prince Of Persia: How To Fast Travel
Learn how the fast travel mechanic works in The Rogue Prince of Persia — crucial for navigating dangerous maps and finding essential resources.
How To Craft Weapons In The Rogue Prince Of Persia
When the player plays the game, they will come across some scattered blueprints, promising the key to unlocking weapons of various kinds. These blueprints can be found scattered around the map in treasure chests and serve an important function in the game.
However, players need to find Glimmer before they can realize that purpose. Glimmer is the resource required to craft weapons and medallions in the game. Here are the two requirements players need to fulfill in order to find Glimmer:
- Die at least once in the duration of their gameplay.
- Clear the first biome and reach the Ruined Aqueducts.
The first time players reach the Aqueducts, a title sequence is shown, highlighting the incredibly beautiful and unique art used in The Rogue Prince of Persia.
Players will find Glimmer right after the water fountain once they fulfill these requirements. After acquiring it, they can use it to craft weapons at Sukhra's Forge in the Oasis, the area where players respawn after dying.
Players can interact with the Anvil or with Sukhra himself to craft new weapons, and use the display rack next to the anvil to see all the weapons they have unlocked.
Unlocked weapons aren't given to the player immediately. However, they are added to the weapon pool and can appear in each run in chests or shops.
How To Get Glimmer
Weapons and Medallions take a decent amount of Glimmer to unlock. Obtaining Glimmer is a simple matter. There are two ways to get it:
- It is dropped by enemies killed by the player. Not all enemies grant the player Glimmer, the drops are random. Players can only get a handful of Glimmer through wonton murder.
- Glimmer can be found in treasure chests, most often the ones that are found inside of rooms with platforming puzzles.
If the player wants to farm Glimmer to the max to unlock every weapon and Medallion available to them, they should go to as many puzzle rooms as possible to maximize the amount of glimmer they gain.
Always deposit Glimmer into purple Brazier when you find one. Any undeposited Glimmer is lost when the player dies.
