At first glance, Rumbleverse looks like a typical battle royale title. However, for those who want a unique spin to their fight-to-the-death experience, Rumbleverse provides quite an interesting alternative. This time around, players don’t have access to firearms throughout the match. Instead, players attack solely through melee combat - be it through kicks, punches, and elbow drops on top of opportunities to block and dodge. Moreover, scattered across the map are various melee weapons, as well as “magazines” that teach special moves.
This poses an entirely new experience for players, especially those looking for something new to spice up their battle royale cravings. And while Rumbleverse is set to close its servers by the end of the month, players can still hop on the free-to-play title across various platforms to ensure they reign supreme by the time the game closes. However, just how can players capitalize on the game’s cross-progression and crossplay features?
Does Rumbleverse Have Crossplay?
Unlike other battle royale games that usually confine players to their respective platforms during matchmaking, Rumbleverse players have the advantage of playing with other gamers across all the title’s platforms.
This means players of the PC version of the FPS game are able to participate in matches with other players in PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The feature is enabled in the game by default, meaning players don’t necessarily have to do anything to turn this feature on or off unless they want to manually change their matching preferences.
Should Players Bother With Crossplay?
Contrary to other multiplayer games, players of Rumbleverse do have the option of turning off Crossplay. Players can do this through the Account tab under Options, where they can manually turn off this feature.
With Crossplay turned off, players no longer get matched with other gamers from other Rumbleverse players even if other gamers are playing the FPS in console platforms. While this does even the playing field by ensuring all other players have the same advantages and detriments of a particular control scheme, the game does warn players that such an action may result to longer queues and higher latency, as players will be strictly attached to their platform of choice.
Getting Rumbleverse Friends
An integral part of deciding whether players should bother with Rumbleverse crossplay or not is if they even have friends in the game in the first place. While the game does support any platform, the way players can have friends and invite them does depend on the kind of platform they’re using. Firstly, players need to connect their Epic Games account with both their PlayStation and Xbox accounts. Afterwards, players should consider the following:
- PC Friends List: The Friends List for the PC includes all people in the Epic Friends List, since the game is connected to the Epic Games Store. However, this menu will only show fellow Rumbleverse players among those friends.
- Console Friends: The Friends List for consoles will be based on the people players have added in their respective console accounts. Again, only Rumbleverse players will be included here.
Manually Turning Off Crossplay
Given that crossplay is enabled in Rumbleverse as soon as players enter the game, there’s no need to fix anything in the settings. However, if players want to play with others in the same platform, they need to do the following:
- Players need to go to Settings, which can be accessed via Esc (PC), Menu Button (Xbox), or Options Button (PlayStation).
- Go to the Accounts Tab.
- Under Crossplay, toggle this option “Off.” This is located just below the player’s Account ID.
Does Rumbleverse Cross-Progression Exist?
Thanks to cross-progression, players of Rumbleverse are now able to enjoy all of their unlockables and progress such as FPS weapons across any platform. This is important to a high-octane experience such as Rumbleverse, where players make progress in things such as unlockables and Battle Passes quickly.
With Cross-Progression, players won’t lose any progress regardless of the platform they’re using. All of their unlocks, be it from the Battle Pass or regular items they’ve acquired in the game, won’t be affected even if players change platforms in a single playthrough. Thing is, it’s important that players use the same Epic Games account whenever logging into Rumbleverse, regardless of the platform.
How To Activate Cross-Progression In Rumbleverse?
Thankfully, players don’t necessarily have to manually activate cross-progression in Rumbleverse, as this is activated by default. When players install and open Rumbleverse for the first time as a shooter on any platform, they will be asked to either create or sign in with their Epic Games account.
To ensure that Rumbleverse progress is carried over across platforms, players need to connect both their PlayStation and Xbox accounts with their Epic Games account for a seamless playing experience. This ensures players are able to spend with Brawla Bills in any platform but only affect one account.
Connecting Epic Games To Other Rumbleverse Platforms
Since Rumbleverse is accessible via Epic Games, players with an Epic Games Account can play the game from virtually any Epic Games-supported platform.
