Nintendúo reported the same information, which could add validity to the claim, as Gamereactor says the two sites have different sources. Regardless, there's no word on a specific release date yet, but launching within the year means the port could theoretically land on Switch 2 not long after the console's release. Whenever it does come out, it'd be a huge boon for the system. Nearly seven years after its launch, Red Dead Redemption 2 broke its Steam player count record twice in a matter of weeks, in a testament to its enduring legacy.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Get a Switch 2 Port and Next-Gen Upgrade
The source also claimed that RDR2 will be getting a "next-gen upgrade patch" to bring the game up to PS5 and Xbox Series X standards.
