Marvel Studios' next movie after the upcoming release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be Spider-Man: Brand New Day following the delay of Avengers: Doomsday's release. That has placed a lot of extra pressure on the fourth standalone film in the Spider-Man franchise, and there has been no shortage of reports about the movie ever since.

With claims that Kevin Feige rejected the original Spider-Man: Brand New Day script, there have been some worries about how the film will turn out. However, given this movie's importance in the timeline, Marvel Studios appears to be putting plenty of effort into making it a major blockbuster event, according to new reports.

Spider-Man 4 Needs To Actually Focus On Spider-Man, For A Change

Marvel Studios needs to ensure that Spider-Man is the focal point of Spider-Man 4 throughout the movie.

Spider-Man is one of the biggest and most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he alone would effectively draw an audience. However, according to Alex Perez during the latest Cosmic Circus Q&A, Marvel Studios plans to add three established MCU characters to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On top of that, Marvel may add a couple more, showcasing just how important this film might be. Whether they all have prominent roles will remain to be seen, but it could be another example of a multiverse movie, such as the previous Spider-Man outing.

Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner has been heavily rumored to be part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which would bring Hulk into this world. It's an exciting prospect that could see Hulk return to his more savage style by being a villain. However, there's no guarantee that will happen, as Smart Hulk could appear in a bid to replace Tony Stark as Peter Parker's mentor. Another character who has been connected to the film is The Punisher, which would lead to his debut in the MCU films following his recent appearance in Daredevil: Born Again. However, it's unclear which other characters will be getting added from the wider MCU who are already established.

Marvel Studios is set to debut a brand new character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has officially joined the cast. Tom Holland's character will also be taken in a new direction during this movie; therefore, adding other established MCU stars might play an influential role in making that happen. Zendaya's MJ and Jacob Batalon's Ned Leeds have previously been Parker's closest friends, but they're set to take a backseat in this particular movie. That also supports the idea of Marvel wanting to add more characters, as there will be more room within the film for them to be used due to two of the previous main characters stepping back.

Marvel Studios has added various major characters to previous Spider-Man films, with the likes of Iron Man, Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, and even previous Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire all appearing. Therefore, the idea of other characters from the wider MCU being part of this film wouldn't catch fans by surprise. However, it's clear that Marvel Studios is going all out for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will help to set it up to succeed.
