When first entering the Spring Highlands in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you'll probably come across a little boy named Croakie who's got a bit of an obsession with frog statues. In Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma's Frog Statue Fanatic quest, Croakie wants you to track down a whopping 204 statues across Azuma, with the promise of a reward each time you tell him about the ones you've found. Activating frog statues also unlocks specific crafting or cooking recipes, with some even necessary to complete other quests in the game, like Roll, Roll, Roll Your Onigiri.

Although their locations are marked on the game's maps with green frog icons, finding all the frog statues in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma isn't as simple as it might initially seem. Many more are locked behind story progression, unlocking certain Sacred Treasures, obtaining more map areas, and even romance. Although you might want to tick off frog statues you find along the way, it's perhaps best attempted as a post-game activity if you want to get every frog statue and obtain every possible reward.

How to Start the Frog Statue Fanatic Questline

Frog Statue Fanatic quest in Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma

Frog Statue Fanatic is an Azuma quest you can begin when you're first able to exit Spring Village as part of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma's main story, which happens pretty early on in the game. Just outside Spring Village, speak to the boy named Croakie next to the large frog statue to unlock and start the Frog Statue Fanatic quest.

When you find a frog statue on the map, interact with it to perform the Dance of Bonds, which gives you at least one recipe as a reward — these will typically be a cooking or crafting recipe. However, you get the main quest rewards when telling Croakie how many frog statues you've found, with different rewards to get at each of his milestones.
