Best Party Setup in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

You can only have three members in your party at a time, so it is important to bring along the best combination of members to ensure a solid team. There are a couple of different setups you can use, but these are the best that we recommend for different situations, either during main quests or extras.

Attacker, Buffer, and Debuffer

This setup is best for those looking for a strictly offensive approach. We recommend this type of party if you are comfortable handling battling on your own without worrying too much about you and your party losing HP. The Attacker will assist you in chipping away at the enemy's HP, while the Buffer will give you stat boosts, and the Debuffer will lower the enemy's defenses. These are the three best characters to choose for this setup:

  • Suzu (Buffer): One of the best Buffers in the game that doesn't take any damage. She will also be able to give you attack and defense buffs along with your secondary Attacker.
  • Hina (Attacker): Hina is a great secondary Attacker alongside your own character. Having Suzu along with her will give her a decent Attack buff as well, and her double sword will allow her to move quickly.
  • Sakaki (Debuffer): Sakaki is a fantastic Debuffer who can decrease your enemy's attack and defenses. He also has naturally very high Magic Attack, which can be useful in battle.

Attacker, Debuffer, and Defender

If you are in need of a bit more defense to protect yourself, it is recommended to create a party that has an Attacker, Debuffer, and Defender. As per usual, the Attacker will provide additional damage, the Debuffer will decrease the enemy's attack and defense, and the Defender will help to distract the enemy and prevent your character from passing out. Here are some recommended characters.

  • Hina or Kurama (Attacker): In this team, you can either have Hina or Kurama on your side as the secondary Attacker.
  • Tsubame (Debuffer): Tsubame can help to lower enemy attack and defense, and therefore protect your Defender from being taken out.
  • Cuilang or Iroha (Defender): Cuilang will be useful to draw enemy attention away from you, especially if you are less experienced in the game and low on HP.
