Like most survival games, crafting is a big part of Runescape: Dragonwilds. The massive world of Ashenfall has many different materials that you can collect and use to craft items. As you progress and start making advanced gear, you will need a number of rare materials. One of them is Charcoal.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds - How To Get Dragon Tooth
The search for Dragon Tooth in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is dangerous for players who come underprepared.
Charcoal is a useful material that serves many purposes in Runescape: Dragonwilds. But, before you can get it, you will need another item first; one that you might not have right at the start of the game. Don’t worry, though — this guide will show you how to find Charcoal in RuneScape: Dragonwilds below.
How To Get Charcoal In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
If you are still early in your RuneScape: Dragonwilds journey, getting Charcoal will take a little time. First, you’ll need to build a Kiln, and for that, you will need to get your hands on the following materials:
- 8 x Ash Logs
- 6 x Clay
- 10 x Fire Runes
- 20 x Stone
Ash Logs and Stones are the easiest to find in the game. You can collect a bunch of them just by exploring early areas like Temple Woods. For more Ash Logs, you can chop down Ash Trees.
Next, you’ll need to gather six pieces of Clay. To find it, you’ll need to make some progress in the game since Clay is located in the Whispering Swamp. It’s a pretty dangerous area with lots of tough enemies that can surprise you. Putrid Rats, in particular, can be a tough nut to crack as they can poison players. So, make sure to bring some Healing Potions and other materials that can help you stay safe.
The best spots to find Clay are on the east and west sides of Whispering Swamp.
The last thing you’ll need for the Kiln is 10 Fire Runes. The player can make them at the Rune Altar using Rune Essence. But, one important thing to remember here is that you need to have at least level 13 in your Runecrafting skill to unlock Fire Runes. If you’re not there yet, you should keep mining Rune Essence and crafting the Runes you’ve already unlocked to level up. If you want more info, The Best War Games has a full guide on the Rune Altar and all the different Rune types that you can check out.
With all the materials in hand, go to the crafting menu and build your kiln. Once done, put any type of wood in the kiln to get Charcoal.
Charcoal is mostly used as a fuel source for cooking and running the furnace. It works better than wood, and you will also need it to make a furnace.
