Players can build all sorts of things in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, and new building parts and furniture are unlocked as the game progresses. Players are bound to change their mind about their bases eventually, which is why many of them are confused about RuneScape: Dragonwilds' rules about removing items and deconstructing furniture.

Even if RuneScape: Dragonwilds players are happy with their initial base designs and floor plans, they'll inevitably want to upgrade their homes with new materials and blueprints that they unlock by leveling up all of their skills. Thankfully, it's fairly easy to move things around and redesign builds in Dragonwilds, but it can be difficult to figure out how to remove things in the first place.

A new RuneScape survey sent out by developer Jagex causes mass outrage in the game's online community.

How to Pick Up and Delete Builds in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape Dragonwilds Repair Menu

The delete button in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is actually hidden in the repair mode of the build menu. To access it, press the B key to open the build menu and then press the T key (or click the wrench and pencil icon) to toggle repair mode.

Once in repair mode, players will see button prompts to repair their builds or to delete them altogether. Repairing items restores their condition in exchange for a few raw materials, while deleting items completely removes them from the game world. All materials are refunded, however, so players don't lose anything if they delete a wall, floor, or any other build. The refunded items fall on the floor and must be collected manually, so don't forget to grab them.

RuneScape Dragonwilds Delete

While getting all the building materials refunded is nice for building expansive bases and designing intricate houses, this also allows players to quickly place down a campfire or another construction while out in the wild. That way, they can boil dirty water or cook some food to stave off death without having to waste precious wood and stone in the early stages of the game. It also means players can build forward operating bases while exploring Ashenfall and then deconstruct these temporary bases when they are no longer needed.

Ultimately, RuneScape: Dragonwilds has a forgiving crafting system that encourages experimentation without punishing players by consuming their resources upon deletion. Everything is a skill to level up in RuneScape: Dragonwilds — even construction — so players should build as much as they want. The more they build, the more blueprints and crafting recipes they'll unlock, opening the door to even more complex and crazy builds that are truly impressive for an open-world survival game.
