Crafting a Bow

First things first, players will need to craft a bow in RuneScape Dragonwilds before they can go deer hunting. Crafting a bow is a little tricky at first, but once everything is in place, you won't have any trouble making higher-level bows in the game.

First, you'll need to collect some Flax (blue flower) plants that grow around the Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley areas of the map. Once you have enough Flax, go ahead and create a Spinning Wheel inside your base, which requires 4 Flax, 12 Ash Logs, and 2 Stones. Use the remainder of your Flax inside the Spinning Wheel to craft Course Threads.

Once you have course threads, the recipe for an Ash Shortbow will be unlocked. So, simply head over to your crafting table and craft the bow with 12 Ash Logs and 3 Course Threads. Once you have the bow crafted, don't forget to craft some ammo for it. It's recommended that you craft Fang Arrows that require 1 Ash Log, 1 Feather, and 1 Small Animal Fang.

Fang Arrows have a better damage output and will help players take down a deer with a single shot to its head.

Hunting a Deer to Get Antlers in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Once you have the bow and arrows, it's recommended that you approach a passive deer slowly, preferably while crouched. Crouching reduces the sounds your character makes and also reduces the radius of detection for deer.

As you're close enough, aim a fully charged shot at the deer's head and take it down. Once the deer goes down, you'll get some Raw Game Meat, Animal Bone, and Animal Hide with an Antler. If you require multiple antlers, simply shoot down multiple deer.

Now you can head over to the Wise Old Man and give him the deer antlers to progress the Dragon Slayer Quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
