So, if players want to level up Mining really fast, they should take a look at this full guide that includes all the information related to mining leveling, skills, useful spells, buff items, and more. First, let's check the basics of Mining and how to level it up with ease.

How To Level Up Mining Fast In RuneScape: Dragonwilds

How To Level Up Mining Fast In RuneScape Dragonwilds

One of the first things RuneScape: Dragonwilds players need to know about Mining is that it is one of the skills that can be leveled the fastest, and that is due to the way mining nodes are distributed, mostly in bulk and next to each other. From rocks, to clay, and metals, mining nodes will be bulked together and easily farmable with a few swings of the mining pick, and that means lots of exp with each swing.

But, there's yet another detail to keep in consideration when mining, and that is: Pickaxe hits can be critical. This means more damage is done to the node and more minerals are gathered. Of course, this also means more Mining Skill EXP gained and faster leveling.

To start with their Mining Leveling Journey, players should craft a Stone Pickaxe (4x Stone, 4x Ash Logs) using the Crafting Table. Once they get this Tier 1 tool, they should go and pick some stones, but, just to make things more interesting, players should go and mine Runic Essence from Rune Geisers (pink floating stones that are swirling around). That way, they can kill two birds with the same stone: Leveling Mining and Runecrafting.

It is basically going for rocks, splitting them in half, and taking the loot (or not). It is also important to mention that with each extra node in Mining Skill, players will increase their Mining Critical Hit Chance by 1%. If players are having trouble leveling up, they should check the following tips to accelerate the process:

  • Try to find clusters of Rock and Runic Essence. Check for Vaults for big clusters that grant lots of EXP.
  • Unlock the Rocksplosion Spell and break tons of stone to level faster.
  • Craft a Bone Pickaxe using Leather, Animal Bone, and Ash Logs to mine faster.
  • Search for Clay nodes, as they give lots of Mining EXP.
  • Players can consume Infusions and Potions to increase Stamina and reduce the stamina used when mining.

Players can unlock the Bone Pickaxe recipe early by collecting Animal Hide and Animal Bone from Cows that are present near the starting area. Killing them is not as hard as killing Deer, but they drop fewer bones and other resources. The Bone Pickaxe should be crafted earlier to improve Mining Speed exponentially.

How To Unlock And Use Rocksplosion Spell

Once they have reached level 11, they will unlock Rocksplosion, a useful spell that players will need to keep leveling up Mining as fast as possible. It uses 10x Fire Runes, and 5x Earth Runes, so players should craft the Rune Altar first before going nuts breaking stones with this incredible spell.

To cast Rocksplosion, stand near a mining node, then open the Spellbook Wheel (Q), and move the highlighted AoE towards the node. Click to release the spell and watch how the rocks shatter in an instant. It is recommended that players use it on Rune Essence Nodes or Clay Nodes, as they yield even more resources and EXP. It is also possible to use Rocksplosion on floating rocks (such as the Rune Essence nodes).

There are several useful Passive and Active Skills in the Mining Skill category, one of which allows players to break 'Crumbling Walls,' in dungeons and vaults, to access secret areas that most often than not, contain treasure chests. Another useful skill is the ability to track certain mineral nodes using a spell called: Detect Ore and Clay, which will summon a spirit that will guide players to the nearest nodes of Ore or Clay. This is useful Spell can be unlocked at Mining Lvl. 24.

Rocksplosion can also damage and stagger Vault Overlords, so keep that in mind for those difficult encounters. It is also important to mention that Rocksplosion has a cooldown of 45 seconds, which, for the moment, doesn't seem to be possible to reduce by using gear or accessories.

So, now that players have mastered the art of Mining in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, they just need to keep blasting rocks, ore, and clay to make the most of this incredible game.
