Players can unlock various blueprints of weapons while exploring the world of RuneScape Dragonwilds. However, Thane's Authority is a weapon recipe that does not unlock by normal means, as it drops randomly by fighting a strong enemy in the game. While the weapons blueprint depends on the player's RNG, it allows players to quickly chop away at an enemy's health with powerful swings. Here's how to unlock it.

How to Unlock the Recipe for Thane's Authority in RuneScape Dragonwilds
To unlock Thane's Authority, players will have to get its blueprint by defeating a Garou Thane enemy in RuneScape Dragonwilds. It's a high-level Garou enemy that usually spawns in Fractured Plains and the Bloodblight Swamp areas. You can refer to the map image above, as its most common spawn locations have been marked on it.
After approaching one of these locations, players will find a Garou Thane enemy, including a group of other variants, including Hunters, Berserkers, and Druids. Make sure to quickly defeat the lesser enemies before focusing your attention on Garou Thane. It carries a large shield and is surprisingly quite passive when it comes to attacking.
Once you damage the shield enough, it will stagger Garou Thane, allowing players to quickly attack to reduce the HP before it retaliates with a counterattack. Rinse and repeat this process, and Garou Thane will easily go down. You might have to defeat a couple of Garou Thanes to obtain a Vestige: A Brutal Bladehead from one. Using the Vestige in your inventory will unlock the Thane's Authority blueprint for you.
In case you didn't find Thane's Authority recipe after defeating all the Garou Thanes available, try resting 1-2 in-game days, and it'll respawn them in the same locations.
How to Craft Thane's Authority
Once you have the blueprint, crafting Thane's Authority is quite simpler compared to the Masterworks gear. You'll need the following materials to craft it.
- 10x Iron Bar
- 8x Bronze Bar
- 4x Oak Logs
- 4x Vault Shards
Players will need to travel to the Stormtouched Highlands to get Iron Ore and later process it in the Furnace to make Iron Bars. For Bronze Bars, you can find several locations in the Fractured Plains to farm Copper and Tin Ores, and later merge them in the Furnace.
Thane's Authority is a level 4 weapon, and deals 86-151 damage to enemies. Although the swings are quite slow compared to a lighter weapon like a dagger or a sword, players can use it after parrying an enemy to almost one-shot them in a single strike in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
