Developer Saber Interactive has posted an enigmatic video teasing the team’s next project, and the horror community is certain it refers to a supernatural classic. Saber Interactive is an American developer and publisher behind a slew of popular games, including Evil Dead: The Game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and World War z: Aftermath.
Saber announced Evil Dead: The Game was being delisted from storefronts back in May, which was a crushing blow to long-term fans of the title. The asymmetric survival horror featured the return of Bruce Campbell’s protagonist Ash Williams and offered both co-op gameplay and PvP combat. Luckily, the developer has something exciting planned, and the reveal is coming very soon.
Horror Game Dead Take Reveals Release Date, More Cast Members
Upcoming horror game Dead Take reveals its official release date and the rest of the actors joining leads Ben Starr and Neil Newbon.
Posted on Twitter, Saber shared a short, 30-second video showing a device sitting on a table surrounded by candles. The audio features a ringing bell, screaming, and a voice delivering lines that are very familiar to horror fans. Additionally, a link was provided, which led to a website glitching the date July 22, 2025, at 1PM UTC. Over on Reddit, gamers were discussing what the project could be, but most were in agreement that the post was teasing Hellraiser. The bell is very similar to the one that tolls when the franchise’s puzzle box is solved, and the dialog matches the lines spoken by the series’ lead Cenobite, Pinhead. The tease of a new Hellraiser game is an exciting announcement for horror fans, especially after Pinhead’s removal from the popular Dead by Daylight game earlier this year.
Saber Interactive Seemingly Teases New Hellraiser Game
Based on Clive Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart, Hellraiser features a mysterious puzzle box that has the power to summon sadomasochistic beings who draw a fine line between pain and pleasure. Hellraiser is one of the horror franchises with the most movies, beginning with Barker’s 1987 directorial debut up until the 2022 reboot by David Bruckner, and serves as one of the most popular and long-running horror IPs to date, joining the likes of Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Similar to Evil Dead: The Game, IllFonic’s Friday the 13th: The Game saw its online servers shut down in 2024, but fans of the slasher IP received some positive news recently. San Diego Comic Con teased the game’s return through an upcoming Jason Voorhees figure, which filled the fandom with hope of its comeback. All in all, it’s an exciting time for horror fans, and July 22 will reveal if the Hellraiser community was correct in its investigation.
