2025 has been an excellent year for anime fans. Since the beginning of the year, viewers have had the chance to watch and experience some of the best titles that the industry has to offer. However, not all anime have impressed the audience with their quality. One of the biggest letdowns of the year has been Sakamoto Days.

The Sakamoto Days Anime Does Not Live Up To The Hype

TMS Entertainment Has Not Done Enough

Sakamoto Days (5)
  • TMS Entertainment needed to do better
  • Sakamoto Days' manga is far superior to the anime

Before its release, Sakamoto Days was hyped up as one of the biggest releases of 2025. Fans who had read the manga were aware of the series' quality. In fact, if someone asked Sakamoto Days fans about the manga, it's highly likely that the responses would only be positive. Naturally, when the anime was announced in 2024, fans were keen to see what TMS Entertainment would come up with.

Unfortunately, fans have been massively let down by the studio. Some viewers have complained about the studio skipping chapters, but most have complained about the quality of animation. It is certainly true that TMS Entertainment has failed to capture the essence of the manga with its animation. Fans have called out the studio multiple times on social networking websites, but it has been to no avail. However, they still held hope that Sakamoto Days part 2 would be better. Sadly, they couldn't have been more wrong.

Sakamoto Days' Anime Adaptation Has Disappointed Fans

Fans Can't Believe That Their Favorite Anime Was Treated In Such A Horrible Way

Sakamoto Days Season 1 Part 2 isn't off to the best start either. The anime still has the same issues, and it's unlikely to change anytime soon. Manga readers who have watched the anime can easily see the difference between the source material and the anime. Naturally, they are the ones who have been disappointed the most.

Fans wanted an adaptation that would do their favorite manga justice. After seeing Sakamoto Days with a below-average adaptation, the fan base is upset. To make matters worse, there are many new titles that are airing in 2025 that have far superior production.

Given the reception towards the anime, it's safe to assume that Sakamoto Days might not announce a new season straightaway. TMS Entertainment will have to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to improve the anime's quality. For the time being, fans keep their expectations grounded and do not expect any major announcement.

2025 Is A Great Year For Anime Fans

Lord of Mysteries Episode 4 Klein Moretti

While viewers may be understandably disappointed with Sakamoto Days, there are several other titles that are worth watching. Fans who enjoy action can tune in to watch Solo Leveling Season 2, which is full of phenomenal fights. A-1 Pictures went all out and made sure to give viewers a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

If fans are looking for a more story-oriented anime, they can watch Takopi's Original Sin, The Apothecary Diaries, and One Piece. The latter has over 1100 episodes and will keep viewers busy for months. Takopi's Original Sin has just six episodes, but it's already the highest-rated anime of 2025. The anime has some heavy themes, so fans are advised to watch it at their own risk. The Apothecary Diaries is also an excellent choice. It has a great cast of characters and each episode tackles a new mystery, while building up to something much bigger.

Another standout anime is Lord of Mysteries, which is based on a web novel. The anime is still in its early stages, but it has already racked up positive reviews. So, it's something that fans, especially those who enjoy mystery, thriller, and supernatural themes, should watch. 2025 is still far from over, and even beyond the summer lineup, there are many big titles worth watching. Some of the anime that will release later this year are: Spy x Family Season 3, One Punch Man Season 3, My Hero Academia Season 8, and Kingdom Season 6.
