Samuel L. Jackson has played Nick Fury in the MCU for 15 years since his first appearance in the post-credit scene for Iron Man. Jackson has played the character in 11 MCU films. However, Jackson still wonders why Fury hasn't joined the Black Panther franchise yet.
Nick Fury has been an essential part of the MCU. He Assembled the Avengers, ran S.H.I.E.L.D., and is fighting Skrulls for the second time in Secret Invasion. Fury has been in the Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Avengers, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man franchises. However, Fury has not been a part of the Black Panther franchise, and Jackson wants to change that.
Jackson spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Secret Invasion. He told them which MCU franchise he wanted to be a part of. "If I had it my way, I would've been in every Marvel movie 'cause I mean he is Nick Fury, he knows everything that's going on. I'm still trying to figure out why I've never been to Wakanda," Jackson said. "They didn't ask me to go, but I'm still trying to get there. I need a ticket."
Jackson still has time to visit Wakanda and be part of the Black Panther f ranchise. Not much is known about the Iron Heart series coming to Disney Plus in the Fall of 2023, but Jackson could find a way to make an appearance if any scenes are set in Wakanda. Other than that, there has been no announcement about a third Black Panther movie, and if there is one, it won’t be until phase 7 of the MCU. Other movies that could see Fury in Wakanda could be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars. Hopefully, Kevin Feige can find a way to get Jackson a ticket to Wakanda.
Until then, fans must settle for watching Jackson play Fury in Secret Invasion or possibly play a Skrull pretending to be Fury, like at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Secret Invasion is a 6-episode spy thriller that follows Fury and his allies, Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, as they attempt to stop a faction of Skrulls from invading Earth.
Secret Invasion episode 1 is now streaming on Disney Plus.
