The tractor, also known as the sugar cube, is one of the first vehicles that the player gains access to in Satisfactory. It has a few bells and whistles, including some inventory space, automation for picking up resources from truck stations, and an in-built crafting bench.
The maximum speed of this vehicle is 55 km/h, making it faster than the Blade Runners by a little bit, though it doesn't do well on rough terrain. It's a good option for players in the early game, and it is quite useful for automated deliveries.
13 Beginner Tips For Playing Satisfactory
From the importance of careful conveyor belt placement to the benefits of verticality, here are some useful tips for Satisfactory players.
How to Craft a Tractor in Satisfactory
The tractor is a Tier 3 unlockable item, locked behind the Vehicular Transport upgrade. This upgrade requires x25 Modular Frame, x100 Rotor, x200 Cable, and x400 Iron Plate. After you've unlocked the prerequisite upgrade, players can use their build gun to craft the Tractor.
You will need x5 Modular Frame, x5 Rotor, and x10 Reinforced Iron Plate to do so. After you've built it, you can configure it to drive autonomously on a recorded path, or take it with you for exploration into the wild.
Satisfactory: How to Craft Motor
Motors are important components in constructing many buildings once Satisfactory players go past tier 1 upgrades. Here's how to craft them.
How to Automate Tractor Deliveries
In Satisfactory, the resources are often far apart. Connecting them all together via long swathes of conveyor belts is a waste of time and resources. Instead, players can use tractors early on in the game to automate deliveries between any two spots on the map.
You can have multiple tractors working the same route to transfer more material.
To do so, the player needs to build two truck stations in each of the two locations. One truck station costs the player x15 Modular Frame, x20 Rotor, and x50 Cable. Once constructed, players can interact with the Truck Station to select it as an unloading or loading bay. One station should be the designated loading bay, connected to a storage of materials that you want to transport to the main base, and the other should be the unloading station, connected to a storage container, or production line at the base where you need the aforementioned materials.
Each train station will require 20 MW of constant energy supply. Additionally, you should connect at least one of the stations to a fuel source so that it can resupply the tractors' fuel.
After the truck stations are configured, hop into your tractor near the loading station and start recording your path using the tractor's menu. Drive to the unloading station, and then back to the place you started from. Save the path with an appropriate name, and turn autopilot on to watch the magic happen. The tractor will automatically follow the designated route back and forth between the two stations, where it will load and unload materials.
