Satisfactory combines elements of automation, resource gathering, and base building to create the most "satisfying" experience that a gamer can get. There are a lot of different items in the game that the player can slowly unlock through one of two progression routes.
The Nobelisk Detonator is an item that players can unlock fairly early on. It makes for an effective weapon against enemies, getting rid of swarms easily. However, its main purpose is to clear certain types of debris that can stop the player from placing buildings or passing through cave openings.

How to Unlock Nobelisk Detonator in Satisfactory
The Nobelisk Detonator can be found in the Sulfur MAM research tree, and it can be unlocked quite early on. There are only two required nodes to gain access to the Nobelisk Detonator research node, which costs x50 Black Powder, x100 Steel Pipe, and x200 Cable to unlock.
- Find Sulfur in the world and feed x10 Sulfur into its research tree in MAM to get the ability to scan for Sulfur.
- Then, obtain x50 Sulfur and x25 Coal to unlock Black Powder.
If you haven't unlocked coal through the MAM, you can gain the ability to scan for it by unlocking the Coal Power Milestone, which costs x150 Reinforced Iron Plate, x50 Rotor, and x500 Cable. It is also a Tier 3 Milestone.
- Finally, research the Nobelisk Detonator and unlock it.
Since you need Steel Pipes to unlock this device, you'll need to progress to the Basic Steel Production Milestone in Tier 3 before trying to get the Nobelisk Detonator. Players need to complete phase 1 of project assembly and spend x50 Modular Frame, x150 Rotor, x500 Concrete, and x1000 Wire to achieve this milestone.

How to Craft Nobelisk Detonator in Satisfactory

Since the Nobelisk Detonator is a piece of equipment, it needs to be crafted at the Equipment Workbench. Players need x1 Object Scanner, x10 Steel Beam, and x50 Cable to make this item. However, to use the Nobelisk Detonator, players also need to craft its ammo, the Nobelisk.
There are multiple types of Nobelisks in the game, each one getting progressively more explosive. However, the basic Nobelisk costs x2 Black Powder and x2 Steel Pipe for each piece. Thankfully, the production of the ammo can be automated through an Assembler. Since all variants of the Nobelisk require the basic version, it's a good idea to automate it as soon as possible, so players can obtain the better variants as soon as possible after unlocking them.
X1 Coal and x1 Sulfur make x2 Black Powder in an Assembler, while Steel Pipes can be made from Steel Ingots using a Constructor. Combine the two products in an Assembler and configure it to Nobelisk to automate ammo production for the Nobelisk Detonator.

From the importance of careful conveyor belt placement to the benefits of verticality, here are some useful tips for Satisfactory players.
How to Automate Nobelisk Production in Satisfactory
To create a supply line from the ground up for automating the production of Nobelisks, you'll need to follow the given steps:
- Find the following resource nodes and place miners on them: x2 Coal, x1 Sulfur, x1 Iron.
- Use a Foundry to combine the Iron and Coal into Steel Ingots, and use an Assembler to combine Sulfur and Coal into Black Powder.
- Feed the Steel Ingots into a Constructor to make Steel Pipes, which you need to combine with the Black Powder using an Assembler into a Nobelisk.
There isn't a reason to optimize this setup, since you won't use that many Nobelisks in your playthrough. However, if you really need to ramp up your production of Nobelisks, here's what you need to do to obtain 60 Nobelisks per minute.
- Feed Coal and Sulfur into 2 Assemblers to get 60 Black Powder/min.
- The rate of production for Steel Ingot is 45/min with the default recipe. To get 60/min, create two foundries, each supplied with iron ore and coal, and underclock one of them to 15/min. If you don't have the ability to underclock buildings yet, keep the extra steel ingot in storage.
- Steel Pipes have a long production time, with Constructors only making 15 of them each minute. Feed the Steel Ingots into 4 different Constructors to make 60 Steel Pipes per minute.
- Craft 6 Assemblers, each connected to Steel Pipes and Black Powder, all configured to craft Nobelisks.
- In total, you'll need to craft x8 Assembler, x2 Foundry, and x4 Constructor for this optimized setup. It will consume 168 MW of power in total, not including the Miners.
|
Buildings Required |
Materials Used |
Energy Consumed |
|---|---|---|
|
x8 Assembler |
x64 Reinforced Iron Plate, x32 Rotor, x80 Cable |
15 MW/Assembler |
|
x2 Foundry |
x20 Modular Frame, x20 Rotor, x40 Concrete |
16MW/Foundry |
|
x4 Constructor |
x8 Reinforced Iron Place, x32 Cable |
4MW/Constructor |
This will give you a total output of 60 Nobelisks each minute, letting you amass a vast storage of the explosive devices. You can use these bombs on their own or unlock more of the Sulfur Research tree to gain access to better versions of the explosives. These can be crafted using your ridiculous storage of Nobelisks.
