In Satisfactory, Modular Frames are among the first batch of unlocks players obtain as a reward for completing Phase 1 of the operation. While most other FICSIT rewards seem to be useful, players are left scratching their heads about what to do with their ability to now craft Modular Frames.
Satisfactory: All Milestone Costs & Rewards
The main systems of progression in Satisfactory are Milestones and Hub upgrades. These cost a lot of resources and unlock new buildings and resources.
Modular Frames do not come into play until after players unlock Tier 3 upgrades by building the Space Elevator and successfully completing the very first delivery. Here is how to use them.
How To Unlock Modular Frames
Modular Frames can be unlocked by completing the Part Assembly Milestone in Tier 2 of the HUB terminal in Satisfactory. The following materials are needed to finish this milestone:

How to Use Modular Frames
Despite their name, Modular Frames are not actually items that you can use for base building or structure placement in Satisfactory. They are resource materials required to complete milestones in progressive tiers, serve as building materials for complex structures, and used to create vehicles. Following is a complete list of items that require a Modular Frame to craft:
- Heavy Modular Frame
- Xeno-Basher
- Blade Runners
- Blueprint Designer Build Gun
- Geothermal Generator
- Manufacturer
- Foundry
- Miner Mk.2
- Truck Station
- Truck
- Explorer
- Tractor
- Electric Locomotive
- Freight Car
Most buildable structures that require Modular Frames are locked by Tier upgrades in the HUB terminal.
Like Conveyor Belts, Modular Frames become increasingly sophisticated as you go farther down the technology tree. They go from Modular Frames to Heavy Modular Frames, then to Fused Modular Frames, and then finally to the Pressure Conversion Cube.
