At the start of a pioneer's journey in Satisfactory, most of the items that they need to craft and refine are solid in nature. They are all stored, processed, and combined in the same kind of buildings. However, as you unlock more and more things, fluids become a part of the equation as well.

This introduces another level of complexity, where, instead of conveyor belts, you have to manage pipelines, fluid tanks, and deal with pressure differences to create an efficient delivery system. Though it might not seem like it, circuit boards require both liquid and solid resources to craft.

How to Unlock Circuit Board in Satisfactory

How to unlock circuit board in Satisfactory

The Circuit Board is a mid-game item that is locked behind the Oil Processing Milestone in Tier 5. To unlock this milestone, players need x50 Motor, x100 Encased Industrial Beam, x500 Steel Pipe, and x500 Copper Sheet.

Additionally, to get access to Tier 5 and Tier 6, players need to complete phase 2 of project assembly and make the construction dock of the space elevator. This requires x1000 Smart Plating, x1000 Versatile Framework, and x100 Automated Wiring.

How to Craft Circuit Board in Satisfactory

How to craft Circuit Board in Satisfactory

Once unlocked, players need x4 Plastic and x2 Copper Sheet to craft the Circuit Board in an Assembler. It can also be crafted on a craft bench if players have the ingredients in their inventory. To automate the production of the Circuit Board, players need to create a production line which contains two resources: Oil and Raw Copper. Oil is used to make plastic, while Raw Copper is used to make copper sheets. Here's what an initial setup should look like:

  • Find a resource point for Crude Oil and use an Oil Extractor to start pumping it out. Connect it to a Refinery and set the Refinery's output to Plastic.

If players want to reduce waste, they can set the Refinery to make Fuel and Polymer Resin, then connect the Polymer Resin's output to a second Refinery. Add a second connection of water to that Refinery, and set its output to Plastic. This will let you make plastics without any waste product, i.e. Heavy Oil Residue.

  • Find a Raw Copper resource node, and use a Mining Rig to extract the ore. Connect the rig to a smelter to convert the copper into copper ingots.

If you want to streamline the process, use a conveyor splitter to feed the raw copper into multiple smelters, and a pipe junction to split the output of the Oil Extractor for multiple refineries.

  • Feed the copper ingots being produced into a Constructor, and set its output to Copper Sheet. Scale this up as much as you can afford to in order to get the optimum results when making circuit boards.
  • Finally, connect the output of Plastic from the refinery and the output of Copper Sheet from the Constructor into an Assembler. Connect its output to a storage container if needed, or connect it wherever it is needed in your production facility.
