The indie crime game Schedule 1 has been one of 2025’s surprises, with thousands of players jumping in to take on the role of a drug dealer, building their own businesses from scratch. Despite the game’s popularity, it has now disappeared from Australia, but the developer is already working to fix the issue.
Schedule 1 came out on March 24 and quickly started blowing up on Steam, reaching 130,000 concurrent players on the platform in just two days. This indie sensation—created by solo developer TVGS—invites players to step into the shoes of a drug dealer trying to break into the business, starting as a small-time seller who delivers “Schedule 1 substances” on foot, and eventually building a crew and developing an automated operation. In the game, players not only run the empire—they also craft products using different recipes and must fend off competition to protect their growing business. Now, TVGS has informed players in Australia why the game has disappeared from Steam in that country.

I've not gotten around to playing it myself, but Schedule 1 has certainly got a lot of attention. What's everyone liking about it? Is it the gameplay, story, or is it partly because it's a bit...edgy(?) In its theme? The graphics certainly aren't state of the art, but I dig it.
Taking to Twitter, solo developer TVGS explained to players in Australia that Schedule 1 has been temporarily hidden as it needs to receive a classification/age rating. While Schedule 1 was investigated for potential copyright infringement that could’ve affected its availability, TVGS assured fans the game hasn’t been banned and that its sudden disappearance was due to a mistake, as the developer didn’t know a classification/age rating was required for PC versions. Nevertheless, TVGS has already contacted the ratings agency and is working to solve the issue quickly.
Schedule 1 Hidden on Steam in Australia Due to Rating Issue
Riding the wave of its success, Schedule 1 recently released a new content update, adding a new storage unit property that comes with a loading bay for deliveries and the option to hire one employee. Moreover, the update addressed a couple of issues to improve the game’s performance.
While the game is still in early access, the developer said that Schedule 1 will continue to receive content updates on a monthly basis for the next few years, and is now working on a number of improvements like replacing employee beds with lockers and adding item slot filters, among other things. Even though the game is a success, TVGS has also confirmed that players won’t see a Schedule 1 full release for another 2–3 years.
