Sea of Stars is an indie title from developers Sabotage Studios. This lore-filled old-school JRPG is filled with something called Relics. Relics can alter the way that the game works, making it more challenging or easier in different ways. There are Relics in the Relic menu that can be turned on to make the character take less damage, earn more XP, or even just make fishing easier. There are several places to get these Relics, including at the start of the game and by purchasing them in stores around the map.
All Starting Relics in Sea of Stars
There are several Relics that players will start the post-prologue portion of Sea of Stars with. These are:
- Amulet of Storytelling - Increases every party member’s health by 100%; auto heals the whole party after every combat.
- Guardian Aura - Reduce all damage taken by 30%.
- Sequent Flare - When the active party member times their hit/attack correctly, a star shoots out of them; this makes it easier to confirm when a timed attack/block is done correctly.
- Truestrike Pendant - The 20% resistance enemies gain is removed in all Sea of Star's turn-based combat.
- Sixth Sense - Makes timed blocks a little bit easier to get correct by adding more time in the window for it.
- Adamant Shard - While bonus hits can only do 50% normal damage, they are ensured each time; no timing button presses are needed.
Relics Purchased from the Brisk Secret Store in Sea of Stars
There are several other Relics that will need to be purchased or earned. Each of these can be found throughout the 25 hours or so of play in Sea of Stars. Most of these will have to be purchased in the Brisk Secret Store. To get inside this secret store, players must pick up the Trader’s Signet, located in the Wind Tunnel Mines. The store is in Brisk; look for a rope ladder down into the water along the docks.
- Tome of Knowledge - 150 gold - Get 20% more XP from each and every fight as a bonus stat in Sea of Stars.
- Double Edge - 150 gold - Double Edge can be turned on to increase enemy defense while casting and decrease it while not casting.
- Dubious Dare - 150 gold - This challenging mode will up the damage taken by the player's party by 40% over normal.
Mirth Fishing Store Relics
In a little town called Mirth, players can get building plans and build up a little fisherman's home for him to move into. Once he's settled, players will be able to purchase and earn goods from him, including these Relics.
- Sailent Sails - 135 gold - The ship sails 20% faster.
- Mithreel Rod - Reward for catching four different kinds of fish - The stamina of fish depletes faster while fishing in Sea of Stars.
- Stereofilament Line - Reward for catching seven different kinds of fish - The fishing line becomes stronger and harder to snap.
- Bearing Rod - Reward for catching 14 different kinds of fish - Makes the reeling in speed of the fishing rod faster.
Other Relic Sources in Sea of Stars
There are two other Relics that can be picked up while playing Sea of Stars. These are:
- Falcon-eyed Parrot - Find and pick up 27 rainbow conch shells by Mirna in Lake Docarria Village and earn the Conch Master Seas of Stars achievement - Summons a parrot that will give hints to where treasure is buried.
- Gold Tooth - 225 gold - Reduces the cost of goods in all stores by 10%.
Sea of Stars is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
