Sea of Thieves's new season is out, bringing back Captain Flameheart, who commands the Burning Blade ship. This is a new World Event where players must fight the Captain, which can be challenging because his ship does not catch fire. The World Event is unique and hectic because numerous online pirates will try to capture the Burning Blade for themselves.
Several Skeleton Camps have also been added to the game, and players can visit these Camps to complete the rituals and puzzles inside them. Players can acquire a hefty amount of loot that they can sell, and some item interactions will only occur if they have the Burning Blade Ship. This guide includes details on acquiring the Blade of Souls in Sea of Thieves and what players can do once they have it.

How To Get Blade Of Souls
Blade of Souls is a new item that acts as a weapon in the game. To acquire this, players must engage in the new World Event. The event revolves around the Burning Blade ship, which you might have a chance to spot once you log in to the server. However, the chance of the event being active is relatively low, so you will have to do a little server hopping until you find one with Burning Blade marked on the map in your ship. Once you reach the Burning Blade, you must fight Captain Flameheart and his crew alongside several other online players trying to get the ship for themselves.
After defeating the Captain, the ship will slightly sink, and you will get a notification saying that you can either take over the ship or sink it to get the rewards. To acquire the Blade of Souls, you must choose the latter option and sink the ship.

What To Do With The Blade Of Souls
After acquiring the Blade of Souls, you will find it is exactly like the Cutlass melee weapon in the game. The Slash, Block, and Lunge buttons are the same; however, all attacks cause the enemy to start burning. This allows you to deal additional damage on top of the base damage from the slash attacks.
Unlike most items in the game, this weapon does not restrict movement, meaning that you can Sprint while carrying it around.
As it is an item, you can not put it in your inventory and have it indefinitely. However, you can sell it to any Trading Company of your choice. The sell value of the item increases depending on how many rituals you have completed before selling it. The base value of the Blade without any rituals is 7,000 and goes up to 13,000 with each ritual completed. You can also get the Secretive Stash Commendation, which unlocks after you sell the Blade of Souls burning with three or more Rituals.
