Sea of Thieves is an adventure game where players sail ships as Pirates, exploring the numerous islands and uncovering mysterious tales along the way. The fights at sea can be difficult, especially for new players, but this can be made easy with a few special items in the player's possession.
There are quite a lot of special weapons in Sea of Thieves that allow the players to have an edge over the other pirates. Most of these weapons are quite rare and can only be located in designated areas. The Trident of Dark Tides is one such weapon that players can acquire during their voyages.
Sea of Thieves: How Long is a Day
Sea of Thieves has a day and night cycle, and here is how long a day lasts in real-time.
Where To Find Trident Of Dark Tides In Sea Of Thieves
The Trident of Dark Tides is quite a rare item, but you can acquire multiple of them if you are looking in the right spot. There are multiple Shrines located at different parts of the map. Here, you can dive underwater to find heaps of treasure as well as a puzzle that you can solve. In most cases, the Trident can be found lying on the sea bed or atop a coral rock. These Shrines also have multiple Sirens inside that will attack you on sight. If you can manage to defeat a Siren Leader, there is a high chance that they will drop a Trident for you.
Apart from Shrines, the Trident can also be found on the shore of any island or amongst shipwrecks and floating barrels. During your voyages, you might come across a Kraken or a Megalodon. These are giant sea creatures that swim around your ship and deal damage to it. The use of Cannons is highly effective against them, and defeating them can also yield a Trident for you to use.
How to Level Up Athena Quickly in Sea of Thieves
Leveling up your reputation with Athena can be time-consuming in Sea of Thieves, so here is how to do it quickly.
How To Use Trident Of Dark Tides In Sea Of Thieves
The Trident of Dark Tides is not a weapon or item that you can place in your inventory. This means that if you switch to any other equipment, this item will fall from your hands. When holding it, you can use the attack button to form a small bubble and release it to make it go forward, hitting an enemy as a result.
There are three variations of these bubbles depending on how long you charge, and the damage increases the longer you charge. This can be a great tool when fighting against boss enemies or groups of Skeletons. As you do not need to reload it, you can constantly charge and hit enemies. This is also effective against enemy Pirates as a fully charged Bubble can one-shot them most of the time.
Try to jump and move around while charging the bubble to avoid bullets when facing opposing Pirates or gun-wielding enemies.
Of course, all good things must come to an end, and the same is the case with the Trident, as it does not have infinite ammo. There is no written indicator of the charge on the Trident, but you can deduce this by looking at the glow on the weapon. The glow will gradually fade as you use it, indicating the charge left. The Trident can also be sold to any of the Trading Companies located at any Outpost. There is a commendation that requires you to sell ten Tridents, so if you are in need of a little Gold, then don't be shy to turn this weapon in at the Sovereign.
