The mirror is one of the most handy items in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 and can help players change the tide of a battle with ease. While the combat can be a little challenging to get the hang of, particularly in regards to timing blocks and strikes, the mirror can help slow things down with its unique features.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 doesn't boast a lot of mechanics, but instead focuses on delivering a short and unique experience. Gameplay aside, Ninja Theory seems to have checked the boxes when it comes to the narrative and visuals once again. While players start off with no weapons in the game, they eventually get a sword as well as a mirror. The latter is a crucial item, so here is how to get and use the mirror in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 - How To Get Alternative Narrators
The Seeing Things Differently achievement is one of the last Hellblade 2 players will complete. Here's how to do it.
How To Get The Mirror in Hellblade 2
The mirror is not available from the get-go in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. That being said, players don't need to wait for too long to get it. Once players reach the Draugar settlement which is in the second chapter, Freyslaug, they will get access to the mirror. This is roughly about an hour into the game.
Before players can get into the mirror, they will need to complete a puzzle in the village to go past the settlement. Right after solving the puzzle, the players will be able to get the mirror. This is unmissable and will be automatically unlocked. Players will also be able to find the Hidden Faces in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 from this point on in the game.
How To Use The Mirror in Hellblade 2
With the mirror all charged up, all the player needs to do is hold the Focus button to use it. The mirror essentially slows down time and makes it easier for players to be able to land successful strikes.
Timing the use of the mirror is quite crucial to ensure that players are able to use it effectively. For instance, just before the enemy is about to land a hit gives players ample time to land a flurry of blows on the enemy. Additionally, it is probably a good idea to stick to heavy attacks when using the mirror, considering how effective they are.
Be wary of the timing of each mirror use. If the enemy is about to hit you, wait until the strike has landed, as a strike will interrupt the mirror use and you will lose its advantage until it is charged again.
How To Charge The Mirror in Hellblade 2
The mirror is charged over time depending on the attacks Senua lands and for the defensive moves such as parrying and dodging. Some enemies can only be dealt with by the mirror, so it is crucial to not just try to land attacks but focus on getting successful defensive tactics to ensure the mirror charges quickly.
Players can know the progress of the charge by looking at the circular light on the mirror. Once the circle is completed, the mirror is completely charged. Additionally, after the completion of the circle, a symbol also appears on the mirror, which is an indicator that it can now be used.
