After spending eight months as an Apple Arcade exclusive, Shantae and the Seven Sirens is available for general audiences. Although the indie platformer is now on most consoles and PCs, it is still facing slight delays. In a recent tweet, developer WayForward said that the fifth Shantae game will come out later in certain regions.

According to the announcement, the game's delay only applies to digital releases. The physical copies of Shantae and the Seven Sirens made by Limited Run Games will come out on schedule. In the Twitter replies, WayForward confirmed that the regions affected by the delay are Australia, Europe, and New Zealand.

As for why the delay was happening, the developer only said it was due to "reasons beyond [their] control." When a fan pressed for more information, WayForward only promised that "there are no problems with the game." However, the game's delay won't be for long. The tweet also said that Shantae and the Seven Sirens  will be available on June 4 for all audiences. When the announcement surfaced, most fans were understanding. The only complaints in the comments focused more on the limited copies in the game's physical run than the delay.

Ultimately, fans in the EU and Australian regions should look forward to the indie platformer's release next week. After only a few hours on Steam, the game is already receiving rave reviews.

Shantae and the Seven Sirens  is available now for Apple Arcade, iOS, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in North America. It will come to other regions on June 4, 2020.
