Where to Watch the Rising of the Shield Hero?

Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the new season internationally in the following regions: the Americas (North, Central, and South), Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia. Netflix Asia also typically streams most anime series in select countries, some of which Crunchyroll may not operate in or where it has a smaller presence.

Netflix Asia has streamed the other seasons in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, so there is a good chance it will stream the new season in these countries, but episodes might not be released at the same time as Crunchyroll.

What to Expect from Shield Hero Season 4

Shield Hero Season 3 covers up to Volume 12 of the original light novel series. For manga readers, the anime is ahead of the manga. In any case, the new season will begin with the rest of the Siltvelt Succession Arc, which takes place in Volumes 12 and 13.

If Season 4 adapts around 3 volumes, like Season 3, it will probably finish adapting the Houou Arc (Volume 15). However, the anime has rushed and skipped many parts of the novel, so it could even cover the following arcs, like the War of Heroes and Truth of Worlds arcs.

So far, 22 volumes have been published in Japan, and the series is still in serialization. Volumes 16–19 are all part of the same large arc, making it likely that the production team will adapt them into a single season.

Main Staff Returns in Season 4

Studio Kinema Citrus is once again in charge of the animation. Furthermore, Hitoshi Haga, the director of Season 3, is returning to direct the upcoming episodes. Since the last season, Kinema Citrus as a whole has been credited as "the writer" of the story, while Seasons 1 and 2 were written by Keigo Koyonagi. With that in mind, fans can expect the anime to maintain a similar pacing and quality to Season 3.

The Rising of the Shield Hero novel is licensed by One Peace Books in North America.
