Subquests are usually given to the player by talking to demons found throughout the Netherworld in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. While a few can also be given by humans found in Tokyo, the general format stays the same as the player is given a task and is usually rewarded with unique items like Periapts that aren't found anywhere else.
Many subquests will have the player defeating specific demons in order to get an item that is then turned in, and these subquests can be completed over and over again to continue getting rewards. One subquest players will come across is Magic From The East; here's how to complete it.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Best Nahobino Stats To Upgrade
The Nahobino is by far the strongest character players can use in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance; here's the best build for him.
Where To Find Inugami's Heads In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
In the Da'at Shinagawa region of the Netherworld will be the demon Baphomet hiding among the steel storage building. Baphomet will task the player with gathering five Inugami heads which can be obtained by defeating nearby Inugamis, the long white demons with a dog-like head. These demons are found in the nearby area, but there are only a few, so players may need to wait for a new moon for more to spawn.
Using the Return Pillar, travel back to the Container Yard Leyline Fount and head out of the container to look at the roofs of the containers below. There will be two Inugami that players can fight, with one usually spawning a time in each fight. There will also be two Bugs that players can attack and will have a chance of also spawning Inugami. After clearing these demons, continue forward and over the ledge to the lowest level where additional Inugami will spawn. If needed, wait for more Inugami to spawn and repeat this path as it is the most reliable way of finding Inugami in the region.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - How To Respec
One of the major changes in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance from the base game is the ability to respec the Nahobino; here's how to do it.
Rewards For Magic From The East In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
Finishing this quest for the first time will reward the player with the Vile Talisman. This item lets demons of the Vile race use Impaler's Glory, which greatly increases the damage to all allies' next attack and adds pierce. Overall, this Magatsuhi skill is okay, but may not be worth players' time compared to the other Magatsuhi skill options in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
Magic From The East is a subquest that can be completed as many times as players would like, requiring five Inugami heads each time. Every subsequent completion of this quest will reward players with four Mirage Gems. These can be used in battle for a chance to inflict Mirage on all enemies, without Skill Potential effecting this item's use.
