Episode 4 of Dispatch has quite a few major decisions that can impact certain parts of the story. The core story will play out the same, but there will be different characters or heroes surrounding Robert in important scenes. Choosing a new member for the Z-Team is one of those important decisions that players will have to make on their own when completing the fourth episode.

There are two choices, and picking one over the other can be confusing, especially if you don't know what benefits each member brings to the team. Here's what players should do in this situation in Dispatch.

Should You Pick Phenomaman or Waterboy in Dispatch Episode 4?

Should You Cut Coupe or Sonar from the Team in Dispatch (1)

After letting one of the members go at the end of Episode 3, players will have a rough shift dispatching heroes to the various calls. On top of being down a member, another hero who was closest to the member you kicked will also leave mid-shift. This forces you to make hasty decisions, and you will end up missing quite a few calls.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 1

After the first shift is over, Robert will go over to the break room, where he'll have a conversation with Waterboy and a fun exchange with Flambae. Here, Blond Blazer will ask you who you want to join the team as an official member. Whoever you choose here will stay as a part of your team throughout the rest of the game and will be available for dispatch calls.

The decision is entirely up to you, and you can go with whoever you want. There are two trophies/achievements based on this choice as well, so you can exit to the main menu before this and copy your save file to a second slot to try out both choices and see how they play out. However, if you still can't decide who would be a better pick for the Z-Team, then we'll go over some of the segments that occur after this choice and who does what during the dispatching sequences.

What Happens if You Pick Phenomaman in Dispatch Episode 4?

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 2

If you go with Phenomenon, Robert will meet him in the showers, where he'll thank you for giving him a second chance. He'll give you a tight hug, and after this, the second shift begins, where you will see him in action. As Blond Blazer will introduce Phenomenon to the other team members, none of them will be excited about this addition because of what he is going through. Regardless, you will start the shift and can send Phenomenon to the calls that best suit his stats.

Phenomenon has one of the best starting stats in the game. He has high Combat, Mobility, and Vigor, making him a prime choice for a lot of calls. When you are upgrading Phenomenon, you can further increase these stats to make him much more powerful and increase the chance of his success even if you send him solo.

Phenomenon has a synergy with either Punch Up or Malevola. His synergy depends on whoever you kicked from the team in the previous episode. If you kicked Coupe, Punch-Up will synergize with him, and if you kicked Sonar, then Malevola will.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 3

The starting power is what makes or breaks this hero on the field. Phenomenon has a 2-second resting time, meaning that you will see him available instantly after completing a mission. This might sound very overpowered; however, the negative point about the power is that if you fail or miss out on a call, he will be Depressed. Being in this state increases his rest time to a whopping 45 seconds, meaning he will be out for a very long time.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 4

At the end of the episode, you will have a conversation with him, where he will talk about Blond Blazer, and your choice can affect him and also increase your relationship with him. There are more interactions in the following episodes, but nothing too major that can impact the story.

What Happens if You Pick Waterboy in Dispatch Episode 4?

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 5

If you go with Waterboy over Phenomenon, you will meet him in the showers trying to drain the spaghetti that Flambae threw at him, but not doing a good job at it. After a small conversation, Blond Blazer will introduce him, and most of the party members will start making fun of him. As the second shift starts, you will now have the option to send over Waterboy to any of the calls that you'd like.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 6

Waterboy has the worst starting stats in the game. Since his Intellect and Mobility are already on 2, those are the best options when it comes to distributing points. Because of his low stats, it is suggested not to send him on calls that require a single hero, and he must have a strong teammate with him.

This, of course, will not be the case throughout the game because once he gets a few levels, he will start being more useful and be great in that supportive role.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 7

His starting power makes him assign himself to a call automatically if you haven't sent him often. You can only remove him from the call one time, and this can be a very negative ability. However, the silver lining is that he does get a +1 on his highest stat. This allows you to send him over with another hero and get closer to that 100% success rate.

When it comes to his synergy, it's the same as Phenomenon. He will either team up with Malevola or Punch-Up , depending on your choice. Sending Waterboy for the hero trainings that pop up once in a while can make a huge difference because that +1 turns into +3 for a stat, and he can even heal other team members with a different power.

Waterboy or Phenomaman Choice in Dispatch 8

If you end up choosing Waterboy, you will need to understand that he will be a liability at the start, but will become a very good support character that you might end up sending quite often. At the end of the episode, you will have a similar conversation with him as you did with Phenomenon, and you can choose a dialogue to increase his relationship for future episodes.
