Is Hades 2 Early Access Worth It?

The talented development team at Supergiant Games has finally released Hades 2 in Early Access (unfortunately, it's available for PC only). You can go to Hades 2' s Steam or Epic Games Store product page to purchase the game for $29.99. The big question on people's minds right now, however, is whether Hades 2 is worth paying for in its early access state.

For those unaware, a game that releases in early access just means that it's not fully complete yet—-there's missing content such as story stuff, character designs, items, and other things that we actually aren't even sure about yet. Supergiant will take feedback from players and improve Hades 2 little by little, adding content, fixing bugs, and balancing combat until the team decides to release it fully in its 1.0 state, which currently has no release window.

Is Hades 2 Early Access Worth It?

With its low price tag of $29.99, diving into Hades 2's Early Access period is 100% worth it for those seeking a deep, roguelike experience with tons of story. Some people might assume that there's a lack of content missing from this version of the game, but it turns out that Hades 2 already feels like a somewhat complete game, with some people even spending over 50 hours with it, only to have more content to still sink their teeth into.

We're not going to spoil the specifics, but not only are there new areas to explore with Melinoe, the main character this time around, but there's basically a whole other game if players unlock the seal at the Crossroads that leads upstairs, which has its own set of areas, unique bosses, and more.

One of the only reasons someone might not be into the Early Access version of Hades 2 is that it's technically not a complete game just yet --more content will be added as time goes on until 1.0. Launches. However, if you do purchase the game right now, you'll be able to play 1.0. Without an additional purchase or anything like that. So, if you're a Hades fan who owns a PC and has been excited to check it out, much shouldn't be holding you back from dropping the cash.
