Sword of Convallaria is a turn-based strategic RPG, utilizing characters pulled from the game's gacha system. The pixel art game, developed by XD Entertainment Pte Ltd, XD Inc., comes with a rich story that follows the events of the main character and the destruction of a Kingdom. Players can play through the story and earn gems, Sword of Convallaria's gacha currency, which are later used to summon characters and weapons.

With Sword of Convallaria's release, the first summoning banner will contain some entry-level Legendary units that will make the first portion of the story mode feel like a breeze. Like in most gacha games, stronger and more viable units will later become available, which leaves some players deciding on whether they should re-roll or not. Re-rolling is a common practice for new players who wish to obtain a desired unit, resetting their progress to try again on their first few pulls.

How Gacha Pulls Work In Sword Of Convallaria

Sword of Convallaria gacha

Sword of Convallaria works like most other gacha games in this regard. Players will construct their party of characters to play through the story mode, destroy any enemies in their way, and earn gems at the conclusion of each stage. As players accumulate enough gems to perform a summon, they can travel over to the summoning page where the banners highlight the different characters available and their odds of pulling them.

  • One single pull (1 unit): 150 gems or 1 Secret Fate, can be combined
  • One multi pull (10 units): 1500 gems or 10 Secret Fates, can be combined

Players can use their gems directly, or head over to the Sword of Convallaria shop to exchange them for a Secret Fate, which is good for one single pull. It takes 150 gems to exchange for one Secret Fate, and Sword of Convallaria will likely give away free gems and Secret Fates during the launch as part of a special campaign. From here, players have the option to spend their gems and Secret Fates on a multi pull, or save them for later use when a better banner is released.

Should You Re-Roll In Sword Of Convallaria?

Before considering whether players should re-roll, it's worth noting if it's possible to begin with. While many gacha games make this operation slightly easier by deleting the game data and re-launching the game, some make it more difficult. This is due to connecting the game's progress to the Steam account, which Sword of Convallaria appears to do in their demo. In this case, players will be required to take a different path in order to re-roll.

Accounts linked back to the Steam username will not be able to re-roll via the traditional method. Instead, if they want to reroll, players will need to create another account in order to pull on the same banner and hope for different results. This could mean dozens of different accounts per person to pull for the desired unit, which may prove to be too much work for most players. Instead, a better option would be to save all your gems and Secret Fates, and wait to spend them on a bigger banner with better rates.

Future Characters To Watch Out For

Sword of Convallaria gacha

While Sword of Convallaria will have limited banners during its first few weeks after launch, there are future banners with some great characters involved. Referencing Japan's banners and assuming the worldwide banners will reflect them, players can expect to pull some of the higher-offense and defending units available in Sword of Convallaria. How many gems you will have to spend on them will depend on your patience. Here are a few characters worth waiting for:

  • Gloria: A great support unit that can deal efficient magic damage and buff the team.
  • Cole: High-damaging character with skills that can be spammed, but are hard to master.
  • Beryl: Considered the strongest magic user in Sword of Convallaria.
  • Inanna: The best defender/healer in Sword of Convallaria.

While Gloria is certainly a treat to have on the team, players will get Maitha for free during the game's opening sequence. Maitha will be the Legendary unit that is guaranteed on the first summon, so it's best to prioritize a damaging or healer character, such as Cole or Inanna. These banners likely won't be available in the first few weeks after launch, so conserving gems may pay off for those willing to wait it out.
