Your camp in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 gives players a chance to connect with the individual characters, along with upgrading their gear before heading back out to the continent. Interacting with the campfire will give you the option to rest until the next day, watch a cutscene with the party, or write in Gustave's Journal.
If you choose to write in Gustave's Journal, a small screen will play out with him writing, then you'll return to the camp without much else. Here's if you should continue to write in Gustave's Journal and if it's worthwhile.

Looking to get seriously OP in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Here are a few boundary-breaking tips to help players reach the summit of power.
Should You Write in Gustave's Journal In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
It will take quite a while before you see any benefits for writing in Gustave's Journal, and even then, it's only one secret skill that can only be unlocked later in the game. To get the skill, you'll need to write in the journal a lot throughout your playthrough. You can choose to write in the journal whenever you return to camp after completing a section in the main story.
Should you continue the main story and complete another major section without writing in the journal, you'll lose the previous log and can only write about the most recent story-related event. This does mean the bonus skill is missable if you don't write in the journal enough, though you're able to miss multiple entries and still get the skill just a bit later in the game. There are also a few side areas that can be completed that offer additional entries, so completing side content can help you either make up for lost entries or get the skill even earlier.

- Stance Change: Virtuous
- AP - 8
- Deals high single-target Lightning damage with 8 hits, increased damage to Marked enemies, and doesn't remove the Marked status.
It's best to pair this skill with Pictos or another party member who specializes in marking an enemy, as the increased damage bumps this skill up even further for her. The ability to also not lose the Mark on the enemy means another party member can also land a devastating attack, or simply leave the status open for her to hit it again.
