Although horrifying, there is something hauntingly beautiful about the Silent Hill 2 remake's immersive setting that feels both new and nostalgic for players.
Interestingly, the Silent Hill 2 remake doesn't have photo mode yet. A number of fans expressed online that it's a shame that the feature hasn't been available yet, especially with the amount of photo-realistic locations in the game. Some have speculated that Bloober Team might add photo mode in a later update, while others don't seem keen about the feature because it might be used as an exploit to find Silent Hill 2's Easter eggs.
Players have also opted to use their PC and PlayStation 5's screenshot functions to take in-game photos in Silent Hill 2 remake, which look just as good, especially if they have high graphics on. Nonetheless, a dedicated photo mode would allow them to adjust the lighting, add filters, and use other camera features to capture the breathtaking and eerie sights of Silent Hill 2 in high definition.
How to Screenshot in Silent Hill 2 Remake
- PC: Press Windows logo + Print Screen and find the screenshot in a folder, or use Steam's screenshot function by pressing F12.
- PlayStation 5: To take a screenshot, PS5 users have to press the Create button. Twitter user discophotomode also shares a neat trick that requires players to get James to face a wall and turn the camera around to capture the scenery behind him. Make sure that James isn't being chased by a monster while taking a screenshot to avoid getting killed.
As modern games become increasingly beautiful, photo mode has made it possible to preserve a piece of in-game art. Titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have benefited from this feature because fans are able to curate stunning shots in different locations, further showcasing the elevated design in every detail. Silent Hill 2 is considered one of the greatest horror games in industry history, and the remake really gives players a chance to have greater appreciation for Bloober Team's work in reimagining its world, especially since this level of detail is miles ahead of the original 2001 game.
