The developer behind the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team, is reportedly open to making more games in the series, whether they're further remakes or even entirely new entries. While there is no confirmation yet in regard to what a new Silent Hill game from Bloober might look like or whether it's in the cards, the recent remake's critical reception and impressive sales show a clear demand for the series.

Silent Hill 2 is a classic of survival horror and is widely regarded as one of the best games in the genre of all time, even to this day, evident by the remake's massive success since it launched on October 8. The remake redefined many aspects of the original and gave it a modern makeover with gameplay reminiscent of the Resident Evil remakes, and has been praised for its faithfulness to the original.

As such, director and designer at Bloober Team Wojciech Piejko told IGN that making more games in the series, either in the form of remakes or even brand-new entries, was not out of the question. Speaking on the success of Silent Hill 2, Piejko mentioned that Bloober was open to any and all possibilities when it comes to its next projects, implying that more Silent Hill could come from the studio.

Bloober Team's Success With Silent Hill 2 is Encouraging

Of course, there is still no concrete plan for a follow-up remake or even a new entry in the series, as Bloober is currently shifting gears to its upcoming sci-fi survival horror title Cronos: The New Dawn. While the studio has mostly made lower-budget indie titles like the psychological horror game Layers of Fear, it has seemingly proven itself in the eyes of horror fans and publisher Konami with the recent remake, opening the door for more Silent Hill.

Even without a full-on new mainline title, however, fans have plenty to look forward to from the acclaimed survival horror franchise, as Konami has several projects in the works for the series. The mysterious Silent Hill: Townfall is seemingly set to be the first chapter in an anthology series, while Silent Hill f is reportedly taking things in an all-new direction with a historical setting in 1960s Japan, though neither game has a confirmed release date as of yet.

The series is seeing a massive revival from Konami in general, as it is even set to return in cinematic form with the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie adaptation currently in the works. The film is bringing back the director of the original Silent Hill movie from 2006, though it also has yet to receive an official release date.
