Silent Hill 2 returns to scare fans around the world with Bloober Team's remake of the beloved classic. With countless hours added to the game's playtime, it's essential now more than ever to save progress to ensure getting killed by one of the many monsters lurking in the fog won't deter further progress from finding James' wife in Silent Hill 2.
Silent Hill 2 Remake: How to Get a Flashlight
The flashlight is an Equipment that players can get fairly early on in Silent Hill 2 Remake. Here is the location for it.
With an abundance of puzzles, frights, and places to explore, players need to know just how to save in Silent Hill 2 and how exactly the autosave feature works so that they are best prepared for the horrors that await them in this restless town.
How to Manual Save in Silent Hill 2
In order to activate a manual save in Silent Hill 2, players must discover an ominous red square that is often seen attached to walls or tables, or in wells. Manual save points are sparse, as Bloober Team wouldn't want to make things too easy for players who might make the occasional mistake. However, when players do find these glowing red squares they can interact with them with the X/A/E button for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC respectively. Doing so will place them into the Save Game screen where they can create a total of 10 manual save slots, with each detailing the real-time, playtime, and the current chapter.
How Does Autosave Work in Silent Hill 2?
Autosave in Silent Hill 2 occurs rather briefly, and not as often as the scared gamer might like. Autosaves often occur just before James is about to head into a new area, or players have activated a cutscene or triggered a new event. An Autosave is noted by the bundle of white squares that appear on the bottom right of the screen during gameplay, but players can also double-check if an Autosave has worked by pressing the Start button and selecting Load Game, to which hovering over each save file will showcase the Current Game save, an Autosave, and a Manual Save.
