The room consists of a puzzle related to the several moths on display, and working out the solution can be very confusing. This guide includes details on how to open the Moth Lock inside the "M" room and proceed forward in the Blue Creek Apartments in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

How To Open Room 202's Moth Lock In Silent Hill 2 Remake

During the Clock Puzzle in Blue Creek Apartments, you must find the Minute Hand to open the door next door. After solving the Hour Hand, the "H" door will open, allowing you to enter the room and break the wall in the kitchen. Players can search the toilet to find the Minute Hand and proceed to solve the Seesaw Puzzle. This puzzle rewards the player with the Winged Key, which lets the player go down to the 1st Floor. After getting back to the Clock and using the Minute Hand, players can enter the "M" door where the Moth puzzle starts.

Solving the Moth Puzzle

Once you enter the room, the door behind you will shut, locking you in. Inside the room, you can find multiple moths on display and a lock with symbols on a door. There is a breakable wall in this room that allows you to reach the back room, where you can push a cupboard to see a few display moths. If you notice, there are symbols on the moths similar to the ones on the lock. You must count how many symbols you can see and subtract the value to solve the puzzle. There are:

8 Crescent
5 Circle
2 Skull

Subtract the values by looking at the Moth lock; the solution you get is 373. Opening the door, you can proceed forward to acquire the Second Hand from the hole in the wall.

Players who are solving this Puzzle on the "Light" difficulty can simply count the symbols and put in the number 582, opening the Lock.
