If players want to get one step closer to acquiring the platinum trophy in the Silent Hill 2 remake, then they are going to want to start their progress early, beginning with the radio. The Radio Silence trophy might make things a tad harder, but it’s extremely missable if players aren’t paying attention to the trophy requirements during their first playthrough.
Silent Hill 2 Remake: Trophy/Achievement Guide
It might take quite a few playthroughs to obtain every trophy in the Silent Hill 2 remake, but for the collectors out there, it'll be worth it.
Those who want the Radio Silence trophy in Silent Hill 2 just have to commit to one small change, but the repercussions of this specification action might torment them in the future, as they will have no way of knowing what monsters lurk in the dark until they pop out and scare James.
How to Turn Off the Radio in Silent Hill 2
To earn the Radio Silence trophy, players must turn off the Radio. The Radio is first picked up after following the strange figure in the fog through the town of Silent Hill. As soon as players pick up the radio, they need to press Options/Tab to enter into the Inventory screen, where they must scroll through to their Equipment and immediately Select X/E to turn off the radio. If players fail to turn off the Radio before encountering their first enemy, they will have failed the specifications for the trophy, and they will either have to restart a playthrough or try again in New Game Plus.
Playing through the game without the Radio is no simple task, as the Radio will emit a static sound when monsters are nearby. With the radio turned off, players will have to rely on their eyes and ears without the static radio sound to guide them in case a monster is lurking nearby. It doesn’t make the game as hard as playing without ranged weapons, but it will be far easier to get jump-scared by hiding enemies like Mannequins.
