Reading Room Suitcase Puzzle Guide
Acquiring The Light Bulb & Paint Can
After reaching 2F, Silent Hill 2 Remake players will find multiple rooms to explore. Opening this suitcase inside the Reading Room requires quite a lot of items, so follow these steps:
- Head into the Cloakroom and open the door to the Hall. There will be a lot of mannequins and enemies hiding, but ignore them and head right outside to the balcony.
- Inside the Nurse's Office is a shortcut that leads to the west side of the second floor, where you can go up the stairs to 3F.
- Go inside the Conference Room to find the Room 107 Key.
- Make your way to the Utility Room to find the Boltcutters.
- Go down the staircase on the south side to reach a different section of the second floor.
- Enter Room 217, go to the balcony, and shoot the window with the book on top of it.
- Go to Room 214, break the wall, and enter Room 215.
- Head down to 1F and reach Room 107, which leads to a Gazebo with the Fireplace Key.
- Find the book you shot inside the Lake Shore Restaurant. Interacting with it reveals a Can Opener.
- Go outside to the Garden and use your Boltcutters to open the chained gate. Pick up the Light Bulb from the mouth of the fish statue.
Finally, open the Fireplace in the Conference Room to initiate a fight with a powerful Monster. Defeat it and break the wall to reach Room 317. Head to Room 318 through the balcony to pick up the Paint Can.
For the fight with the Monster, you can use your Rifle or Shotgun weapons, which deal quite a lot of damage to it, killing it relatively quickly.
How To Open The Suitcase & What To Do Afterward
With the items acquired, head back to the Reading Room, where you must combine Paint Can with the Can Opener to get the Open Paint Can. After that, combine the Open Paint Can with a Light Bulb to get a Red Light Bulb. Replace the broken bulb with the Red Light Bulb, and a message will appear in the mirror. This message is different depending on the game's chosen difficulty level:
- DARK WISH (Light)
- DEED DONE (Standard)
- LOVE LUST (Hard)
After putting the correct letters in the suitcase, you will open it to acquire the Employee Elevator Key. This allows you to access the Elevator and enter the Employee Section on 1F.
